The top floor was worth waiting for. Altamira II sits above the olive groves of Ampelokipi, a quiet residential area in the heart of Zakynthos, and the difference in height is everything. The large furnished veranda faces south across a valley of olive groves and hills, with the mountains behind and — on clear days — a distant stretch of the Ionian Sea catching the light on the horizon. Sunrise hits the veranda full on. Sunsets catch the side — warm light across the valley as the day winds down.
Inside, the apartment is open-plan and genuinely comfortable for a group of 10. The living area has a working fireplace for cooler evenings, modern sofas, a large TV, and wide glass doors that dissolve the boundary between inside and out. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering — oven, stovetop, microwave, coffee maker — though with a dining table on the veranda and views like this, most meals end up outside.
Two bedrooms sleep 6: a quiet double in Bedroom 1, and two bunk beds sleeping 4 in Bedroom 2, which has its own en-suite with walk-in shower. The living room adds two double sofa beds for the remaining 4. Two full bathrooms serve the apartment — the en-suite, and a second with a bathtub. Air conditioning, central heating, washing machine, safe, and high-speed Wi-Fi are all included.
Laganas Bay is a short drive south. Zakynthos Airport is 5km away. The nearest supermarket is 3km. A car is recommended — this island is best explored at your own pace.
