Das Gîte de la Boussole liegt im Herzen eines Dorfes am Ufer der Loire, ideal an der Weinstraße und an der Kreuzung der Schlösser Chaumont-sur-Loire, Amboise und Blois.
In einer alten Scheune, die komplett restauriert wurde, wollten Nathalie und Tanguy einen originellen und warmen Ort für Ihren Aufenthalt in einem Ferienhaus oder Gästezimmer schaffen.
Ein angenehmer Ausgangspunkt für alle Ihre kulturellen und sportlichen Freizeitaktivitäten.
Gesamtfläche 120m2, Innenhof. Erdgeschoss Wohnzimmer mit voll ausgestatteter Küche (Backofen, Herd, Mikrowelle, Geschirrspüler, Kühlschrank, Waschküche (Waschmaschine)), ein Schlafzimmer mit eigenem Bad.

Ideal location for seeing the Loire Valley

Lovely property; the photos don't do the outside seating area justice. Perfectly placed for visiting chateaux and vineyards. Lots of information for local area provided by Nathalie. The restaurant in the village, La Croix Blanche, well worth a visit. Excellent food and lovely eating in the garden.

Nathalie was cheerful and helpful, making us feel completely at home and Tanguy was exceptionally quick to respond to a small problem. The super king sized beds were ultra comfortable. A bedroom downstairs was particularly useful for one of our group with limited mobility. The accommodation was spacious and imaginatively decorated. Situated a few hundred steps from the Loire, many historic sites were within easy reach by car. We had a super stay.

Wonderful stay in Veuves, close to Amboise!

Nathalie's place is wonderful, in a small village a 15-min drive from Amboise. Very spacious and beautifully renovated, the accommodation is even better than the pictures! Nathalie was very helpful in offering recommendations and was responsive to our needs; would highly recommend as a base for a family or group of friends exploring the Loire Valley. Plus, the restaurant at the end of the road (La Croix Blanche) is marvellous.

Great base for exploring The Loire

The gite was handy for everything. Near to Chaumont, Amboise, Bloise. Plenty of good restaurants nearby and a supermarket for food and fuel. The house was lovely with everything we needed. Nathalie was very friendly and helpful.

Just Like Home

Nathalie is the best hostess. She introduced us to La Boussole like a person would introduce a best friend. The furnishings and beds were comfortable. We cooked and enjoyed several breakfasts and dinners. The interior is spectacular. We would not hesitate to stay at La Boussole again.

Charming and Comfortable, But a Bit Isolated

Beautiful gite, centrally located for excursions throughout the Loire Valley. Don't miss Chateau Chaumont, especially the gardens, and Leonardo da Vinci's final home in Amboise. The gite is incredibly clean with a well-stocked kitchen. Unfortunately, the village has no cafe, boulangeries, or tabac, so you really need a car or to be a bicyclist! Nathalie is wonderful, very communicative and eager for us to have a good time - helpful that she speaks English! À lot of tourist info available, pamphlets, etc. Very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable furniture, great showers! Wonderful restaurants in Boise and Amboise.

Charming Gite

A 10 from start to finish! Nathalie is charming and so very helpful. It is obvious that no expense was spared in the remodel of this vacation rental. Great patio area to sit out and relax in. We were a group of six active seniors and had no issues with the stairs. Would rent again!

A charming , stylish and comfortable Gite.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this very well-appointed Gite. Its location for sight-seeing is excellent and it was a warm and welcoming place to return to. The decor is stylish and full of character; the furnishings are very comfortable and having a shower in each bedroom was a bonus. We were impressed by the fantastic spiral staircase and, if someone in your party were to be unable to manage them, there is a great bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor. Nathalie was extremely helpful and lovely to deal with.

Great location in Loire Valley

Nathalie was lovely to work with and her home was beautifully decorated and our stay was very comfortable. The house is even better than the pictures! The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to hop around to the chateaus in the area via our rental car (rental car is a must if you choose this location). The lack of air conditioning did make it a bit warm but we were also visiting in July. The patio was enchanting and we enjoyed being able to enjoy meals outside. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this rental! Thank you, Nathalie!

As described in the other reviews - so lovely!

Great communication with Nathalie before we got to property. And when we contacted her during our stay. Great parking space. Cool property on hot days as long as you close the curtains when you’re out for the day. Two fridges with the small freezer compartments at the top. Lovely courtyard with deck chairs and a dining table with cushions. Great location between Amboise and Blois. Just for info -there is a train line about half a mile away and it’s a road that runs right against the property has traffic quite regularly - but you would have to be VERY fussy for this to be a problem.We did a balloon ride with Balloon revolution and they flew right over Veuves where the Gite is.

Beautiful apartment close to the Loire River

Loved our stay in Veuves at this wonderful apartment. The "gite" was beautifully furnished, the kitchen was well-stocked and everything was sparkling clean. With two bedrooms upstairs and a third bedroom downstairs, each with its own shower and sink, the layout was perfect for our family of 5. Veuves is very peaceful and the apartment felt secluded and private. Wonderful terrace which is great for lunch or dinner. Great location for visiting the chateaus and sites in the area. Our hosts were very generous with their time and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants, wine tasting and things to do in the area. We would recommend the apartment without hesitation.

Great location - central to all the Loire Valley has to offer

Everything you need to enjoy your stay. Comfortable beds and an easy, commute to Chateau’s and towns to explore. Highly recommend you book a reservation at the La Croix Blanche - walking distance and beautiful garden seating with great food. Second floor is not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues. However, is perfectly suited for couples or families with older kids. Private showers for every bedroom and a shared toilet upstairs and one downstairs makes it easy to get ready to explore. Hostess is welcoming and will assist you making plans for the area. We will be back!

Relaxing time on the Loire River

We enjoyed 5 marvelous days in the home of Nathalie Breche, with easy access to any and all of the wonderful castles within the Loire Valley, one of which can be seen across the River, Chateau Chaumont, a true representative of the luxury enjoyed by the few in Frances' history. Nathalies home does have a circular staircase for a second couple to enjoy their own space with full bathroom facilities on the second floor. No winding your way down to the loo in the dark!! The kitchen is well appointed and the patio is clean and private. Thank you Nathalie! We ALL enjoyed our time in your lovely home

A beautiful gitê in a great location.

La Boussole is a wonderful gitê, with 3 good sized en-suite bedrooms, a communal living and cooking area and the most relaxing and private of courtyards where you can also dine al fresco. The gitê is beautifully designed inside and out and absolutely immaculate. Communication with the host Nathalie was simple, either though email or telephone and she is close by should you need her during your stay, although never imposing. Location is absolutely perfect, approx 400 m from the banks of the Loire and located between the two beautiful towns of Amboise and Blois, with château's galore and activities such as kayaking, cycling and hot air ballooning all on your doorstep. Although there are many good restaurants in the region the best we dined at was La Croix Blanche, only 300 m from La Boussole. Looking forward to returning soon as there's still so much for us to see and do in the region and we couldn't imagine staying anywhere else but La Boussole. Merci Beaucoup Nathalie - c'était parfait.

Home Away in Loire Valley

The gite was perfect for three women friends traveling together, giving us the opportunity for fellowship when we wanted but also privacy when we wanted that. A lot of thought had been put into the renovation of the gite. It had plenty of natural light and was aesthetically pleasing. It had also been outfitted with the guest in mind, plenty of space for clothes, etc. We were thrilled to find a place with three showers too! Nathalie was very helpful in orienting us to the area. The location is in a small village not too far from Amboise which was a great location for visiting the chateaux. The village is very small and does not have a lot of amenities but does have a fantastic restaurant. There is another village about a mile away that has a lovely little epicerie where you can pick up your pain au chocolat in the morning. Overall, it was a fantastic value for the money and a delightful stay. I will comment that it would not be good for someone who is mobility impaired with a winding spiral staircase and steps without railing down into the upstairs bedrooms. That said we were 3 fit women about 70 years old and it did not pose a problem for us.

Außergewöhnliches Objekt

Wir waren drei Wochen dort und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Liebevoll dekorierte geräumige Ferienwohnung. Sehr freundliche zugewandte Vermieter - dabei völlig unaufdringlich. Idealer Ausgangsort für Ausflüge und Fahrradtouren. Einzige Einschränkung: Sporadischer Autoverkehr direkt am Haus vorbei und die auch nachts durch das Tal fahrenden Güterzüge haben uns nachts zu Ohrstöpseln greifen lassen.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Freundliche Gastgeberin, die viele Informationen bereithält. Sehr schönes, gut eingerichtetes, geschmackvolles Haus mit einem tollen Innenhof, in dem wir nach der Rückkehr von unseren Ausflügen den Tag immer gerne haben ausklingen lassen. Gute Ausgangslage für Schlossbesichtigungen. Gerne wieder!

Perfect holiday at an amazing place!

The house is a perfect place! It is lovely furnished and at a perfect location. Nathalie welcomed us warmly & her tips for restaurants etc. were super :-) We would like to come back !
