This snug bolthole on the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park is perfect for couples who love the great outdoors – with two dogs welcome too! Nearby, guests can enjoy scenic walks from the doorstep and an array of independent shops to explore in Matlock (1 mile) and in neighbouring Matlock Bath (2 miles) – as well as plenty of delightful eateries. The dramatic Lumsdale Falls are within 1.5 miles, as is Sir Richard Arkwright’s imposing 18th-century spinning mill – now a fascinating textile museum. Stroll along the River Derwent in Matlock Bath and take the cable car up the wooded hillside to the popular Heights of Abraham, offering magnificent views across the valley. Take a trip through time across the open countryside on a vintage tram at Crich Tramway Village (5.5 miles) and visit Haddon Hall or Chatsworth House (both within 9.5 miles).
Enter the front door into the welcoming lounge/diner, with ceiling beams set above and far-reaching countryside views through the window. Light the wood burner set in an impressive stone chimney breast and relax on the comfortable seating in the glow of the fire while the Smart TV streams your favourite shows. When stomachs rumble, set the table and move through to the well-appointed galley-style kitchen where more original cottage features combine with modern appliances perfect for cooking up romantic feasts. Stairs from the kitchen lead to a small first-floor landing and through to a vintage-style double bedroom with a Victorian headboard. Next door is the pretty bathroom, with a free-standing bathtub for those memorable holiday soaks.
Outside, a cute sitting area with bistro-style furniture and potted plants offers the perfect spot for peaceful morning brews and evening tipples. Guests will also benefit from on-street parking, with space for one car and additional spaces subject to availability.
