The Space:
Idyllic Edwardian Retreat in a Woodland Valley
Nestled in a serene woodland valley, just 10 minutes from Canterbury city centre, this charming Edwardian home offers the perfect blend of countryside tranquility and city convenience. With private off-road parking and breathtaking valley scenery, it’s an ideal retreat for families, friends, or groups looking to unwind in style.
The house comfortably sleeps 8, with a downstairs bedroom and three upstairs bedrooms, and features three bathrooms, making it perfect for multi-generational stays. Dog-friendly and family-ready, we even provide dog blankets, a travel cot, and a high chair to make your stay effortless.
Inside, you’ll find:
Two cosy fireplaces with provided wood to keep you warm on cooler evenings.
A snuggly living room with a TV for relaxing after a day of exploring.
A large dining room perfect for family meals.
A designated workspace for those needing to catch up on work.
A light and airy conservatory and breakfast room for leisurely mornings.
A spacious kitchen equipped with an oven, dishwasher, and fridge freezer, perfect for cooking up a family feast.
Step outside to discover private woodland on your doorstep, ideal for peaceful walks or adventures with the dog. Local pubs such as The Duck and The Mermaid offer fabulous Sunday roasts, or you can enjoy tearooms, the Gilda Bakery, and a wine and cheese shop on Frog Lane just five minutes down the road. For a special night out, there’s also a Michelin-starred pub in Bridge, and nearby Bourne Park Gardens is perfect for family days out with the dog. A lovely walking route from the house to Bourne Park can include stops at the tearooms and bakery.
This property combines city, countryside, and coastal experiences, with easy access to day trips to France, Dover, Sandwich, Whitstable, Reculver, and Broadstairs. There is a house next door, so please be respectful fo our neighbours - quiet hours are between 10pm and 8am.
The local shoot takes place 2 - 3 times a week between the 1st of October to the 1st of February. The vineyards also employ artificial gun sounds to scare off the pheasants leading up to the harvest.
