Two weeks in pezenas

Lovely welcome by the owner Didier who left a bottle of wine and some flowers.The house did have everything you can ask for and was very clean. It is 20 min walk from the centre . A very nice stay indeed.

A Perfect house for enjoying a beatiful part of southern France. We reached Pezenas center by walk in 25 minutes and nice beaches at Vias by car in 25 minutes. The house itself

Ideal for Exploring Languedoc

This is one of the best holiday rentals that we've ever had. It started with the warm welcome from the owner Didier - even though we were two hours late - and the house had everything we needed for our 11 day stay. This includes the garden which provided some great relaxation space. Very accessible by road but an easy walk into town as well. So highly recommended.

Our return visit

We stayed last year, same 2 weeks but this time without a car, the shopping trolley made the local supermarket easy. If you are planning to visit this area I doubt you will find a 1 bedroomed property with as much space both inside and out and so well equipped. Just on the outskirts of Pezenace there are splendid walks amongst vineyards, just go you won't regret it, the host Didier is a gentleman.

September stay

Well equipped, bed a bit firm for us but duvet under the sheet helped. Great shower. Lots of storage space Seating area on the porch faces south, lovely but very hot, would be good to have a parasol maybe? Plenty of shade under trees. Easy walk into town. Very quiet neighbourhood.

The gite was clean and well equipped. Didier proves everything you could ask for from a good host and communication was good. Pezenas is a lovely town with lots of facilities and with great access to both the coast and the hills.The gite itself is a little tired and would benefit from an update. We had to deal with a toilet that was faulty and a broken window. Didier dealt with these quickly but a more careful eye needs to be kept on the maintenance of the property. Mosquito screens on the bedroom and bathroom windows would be a huge benefit and some of the cooking equipment needs reviewing. Some smaller baking trays and pie dishes rather than the huge items available would be useful.Where the property really lets itself down is the garden. It is overgrown and the borders are full of weeds. Didier did come and tidy it up and cut the grass but the whole garden needs an overhaul. The are lots of thorny bushes and huge ant nests and the ants and lots of other bugs sting and bite. It is not fully enclosed and dogs and small children could easily wander. We couldn’t really use the garden at all and that was a shame because its description was one of the main things that drew us to the property in the first place. A little money and bit more enthusiasm with general maintenance could bring this place back to its former glory but we will not be returning.

I carefully read your detailed feedback and I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the garden. However, I must point out that your stay took place at the end of September, following a long drought and a violent storm that uprooted trees, broke large branches, and damaged the fence. We addressed the most urgent issues to clear the way before your arrival. I acknowledge that we should have maintained the garden better to make it more pleasant and avoid any inconvenience for your poodle. I am also sorry that you had to endure a torrential downpour (a typical Mediterranean weather event) at the end of your stay, which caused further inconvenience. Regarding amenities, smaller dishes may be provided upon request. As for the mosquito issue, the instructions and equipment provided may not be sufficient : I am looking into the best solution that aligns with the ecological principles practiced on the property. Moving forward, I will ensure higher standards for garden maintenance, taking into account the climate change we are experiencing.

Home from home

That’s how it felt, Didier was a wonderful host, nice finishing touches, wine, flowers, water and not stripped of useful things, oils, condiments , candles etc. Well equipped with a particularly useful shopping trolley with a supermarket less than a mile away, it’s the first time we have successfully shopped without using the car. We plan to return using a personal transfer, no car, we loved it.

Best Home Away Ever

Wonderful host, ideal escape. House has everything and more. 2 minutes from Pézenas but seems like 10 miles away. Impeccably clean, well laid out, close to everything but the perfect peaceful home you want to return to at the end of the day. Parking a real plus along with easy communication with Didier. Thanks for waiting for us along with the wine and water. So thoughtful. Looking at dates for a return.

Peaceful property

As previous reviewers have said, this was a spacious well equipped property that it was a pleasure to return to after a day exploring the local area. Didier was there to greet us on arrival and show us around. He was very kind to us. We were pleasantly surprised by the large garden that we had to ourselves with sunbeds, patio furniture and tables and chairs for lunches outside. There was plenty of shade. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden with a book. Thank you Didier for your hospitality.

We stayed for 7 nights at end of May/start of June. Didier was a great host, with a friendly and professional welcome. He explained all about the facilities, best parking, (completely safe, private & shaded), the neighbours, how to deal with garbage etc etc.The house has all you need, including wine and fresh flowers on arrival!Shower has great water pressure, bed is comfortable, garden is huge, with seats/table/sunbeds. Convenient for the town centre, with a private road for access - but the property is quiet and peaceful. It’s nice to relax in the garden and watch & listen to the wildlife. Less than 20 minutes walk to the bars & restos in the centre. Also, an easy walk through some residential streets to the large Leclerc.(about 10-15 minutes)In summary, a great property, with top equipment, in a large private garden, with good parking, easy access to the town facilities - and a top quality host in Didier. Highly recommended.

Perfect stay in a lovely house

The property was spacious, clean and very comfortable. There is everything you need in the house , very well equipped and the WiFi was excellent. We had a really great holiday in Didier’s house. We were given a warm welcome by Didier who showed us around on our arrival , also a nice chilled bottle of Rose in the fridge was most welcome. Pezenas is easily walkable , about 15 minutes into the centre. The beaches are close by about 20 minutes drive to the nearest one in Mèze where they had a good sized market on a Thursday. There are great places to eat on the coast and also in Pezenas. We also visited Collioure which is probably worth a visit out of season as it was heaving when we went in early September. Don’t try to park in the town, there are car parks before you get to town and a free shuttle bus Also worth a visit is St Guilhem Le Desert, again park down along the road and get a free shuttle into the town. One of my favourite towns in France and to find this great house to stay in made for a brilliant, relaxing holiday. Thank you so much Didier we hope to return soon Rosie and Roy 😀

Superb accommodation in Pezenas

When we arrived at this property we were made very welcome by Didier and we were delighted to see that the accommodation looked even better than it had done in the photos we had seen on-line. The standard of the decoration and fittings throughout was excellent and it was extremely well equipped even down to there being some basic cooking ingredients provided. From our first enquiry about renting the property to our arrival, Didier was very attentive and helpful in providing us with information to help make our holiday successful. We loved the location of the property, it being very peaceful yet within easy walking distance to the centre of Pezenas which was a delightful French town with much to entertain you in both its historic centre and its many delightful restaurants. But it was also easy to get to other towns and attractions either by bus (we went to Beziers) or by car (we went to Sete in the south and Clermont l'Herault a little further north and thoroughly enjoyed both). There was lots more that we didn't have time to do so may go back again. Overall we thought this was the nicest holiday rental of our twenty years of holidaying in France and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the Herault region of France. Wonderful Experience in this Large Garden Home

We spent a delightful ten days in this lovely home. Besides the fully equipped kitchen - (induction stove was great fun to use) - and the heavenly rain shower in the modern bathroom, it was the charming feeling of the entire house, the surrounding trees and garden, and view of the rolling hills. The house itself is roomy with a well designed layout and comfortable furniture. As we were there in March we needed heat and there are heaters in every room and area of the house. More than adequate. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the linens were top quality. Internet was speedy, English language TV was a plus. Having a full size refrigerator was also a plus as we enjoyed shopping at the Saturday market (and the nearby Carrefour), and fixing our breakfast and dinner each day. Pezenas is an interesting village, with lots of history and a well preserved "old town". The Saturday market is not to be missed and lasts all day (we actually went in the morning to buy food, brought it back to the house, went to Bouzigues for oysters for lunch, then returned to the market later to shop for gifts). A car is a necessity as it is a quick drive to the stores, but too far to walk. And with a car you can explore the many villages near and far - we went to Millau for the Viaduct, and Roquefort - for the cheese. But I must mention the best part of this house is the host - Didier. A thoughtful, helpful and delightful person who went out of his way to help us from the first inquiry, through our many requests for guidance, and to giving us the warm feeling of having a friend in France. We will definitely be back again to stay here, and stay longer next time!

Ideal für heiße Sommertage

Mitte - Ende Juni waren wir bei sehr hohen Temperaturen von fast 40 Grad dort. Wir haben die Fensterläden geschlossen und konnten es dann in Nacht gut aushalten. Tagsüber war unter den großen Obstbäumen oder auch am Abend auf der Terrasse immer ein schattiges Plätzchen. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig im Wohngebiet am Ortsrand, einfach traumhaft. Die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet, auch mit Kleinigkeiten wie Klarsichtfolie, Pürierstab usw.

Paradiesischer Ort

Die Lage des bezaubernden Ferienhauses ist wunderbar. Am Rand von Pézenas gelegen und abseits des Trubels der Stadt. Wir verbringen unsere Sommerurlaube schon seit vielen Jahren in dieser Gegend. Erholsamer Urlaub in einem schönen Haus

Wir verbrachten wundervolle 3 Wochen in Pézenas. Das Haus von Didier ist hervorragend ausgestattet und es fehlt an nichts! Für 2 Personen ist mehr als genug Platz und, obwohl man in Urlaub ist, lädt die perfekt ausgestattete Küche dazu ein mit den tollen Produkten der umliegenden Märkte zu kochen. Ein, für 2 Personen ausreichend, grosses Bett mit sehr guter Matratze und ein großzügiges Badezimmer finden sich ebenso wie eine überdachte Terrasse. Selbst bei Regen ist es also möglich draußen zu sitzen und zu essen. Die passenden Aussenmöbel sind auch selbstverständlich vorhanden. Das Haus befindet sich auf einem grossen Grundstück mitten in einem Wohngebiet. Durch die Lage zwischen Obstbäumen in einem wirklich grossen Garten hat man das Gefühl fast alleine zu sein. Die Umgebung bietet viel zu entdecken. Mit dem Auto ist man in manchmal längerer oder kurzer Zeit in kleineren Dörfchen oder größeren Städten ( Montpellier, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Perpignan, etc.). Oder man fährt an die Küste und lässt am Strand einfach die Seele baumeln. Fazit: Dieser Ort ist wirklich zu empfehlen und bietet die Möglichkeit vom hektischen Alltag zu entspannen. geräumiges Haus mit allem Komfort

Sehr schönes Haus in ruhiger Umgebung, der Vermieter hat uns herzlich willkommen geheißen, wir haben alles so vorgefunden wie beschrieben. Wir empfehlen es gern weiter und werden selber erneut in dem Haus unseren Urlaub verbringen.
