Great accommodation

Really excellent property. Spotlessly clean and all mod cons. A couple of small niggles. All knives in draw blunt and not really suitable for food preparation. The gate in the wall of the enclosed garden not suitable to keep dog contained. My dog is a Labrador, even he tried to go under the gate. Suggestion would be to perhaps mesh the gate overall to give occupants security for their dog. Otherwise, extremely happy with my stay. Would recommend it to anyone. Great!

Idyllic stay

We stayed 2 nights in this charming cottage. The village is beautiful. It’s very nice to walk to go to the pub, where the food is very good. We loved our stay in family here.

Cotswold Christmas perfection

Amazing! An absolute treat staying at the Cottage Studio. Everything was easy to navigate, clean, and perfect guides and choice of simple games for our family to use. Location was heavenly- we can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful cottage and great location

We had 3 glorious days in the cottage with our friends and 2 labradors - well equipped, 2 bathrooms, off road parking for 2 cars, walking distance to village pub, close to Chipping Camden and Broadway which are both stunning - really enjoyed our short stay and would recommend.

Perfect Getaway

We couldn’t have asked for a more lovely cottage, everything was perfect and so quiet. Spotlessly clean with lovely furniture and fittings. Two beautiful en-suite bedrooms on the ground floor with amazing loft style open plan kitchen-diner-lounge upstairs, tv in both bedrooms and upstairs and car parking. This is a perfect place to stay, enjoyed Sunday lunch at The Bakers Arms and short distance to local towns. Would highly recommend, hope to return.

Great stay

We had a lovely stay at studio cottage. Everything was done to a very high standard and the location was perfect. Our only (not complaint) point was the bathroom light and fan kept coming on throughout the night but we expect that will be an easy fix as we did ask somebody to pass this on. Thank you for such lovely accommodation.

Studio Cottage

Cottage was very modern and clean. Location was great walking distance to a fabulous pub that we had two beautiful meals. My only downside to the Cottage was the gate it wasn't dog proof as my French bulldog could get underneath, and the showers only having a rain head and no hose and as a lady you do not want to wash your hair every day so I found showering very difficult but other than that Cottage was beautiful Would I recommend the Cottage? Yes would I book again absolutely?

Lovely cottage and location, but small details marred our stay.The hot water was not working when we arrived. What's App communications with the maintenance contact suggested it was water pressure, and stalled trying to help me fix it. They arranged for an engineer to come out, but I read the boiler manual and fixed it myself. Cancelled the engineer.The bedrooms were clean, and the showers worked fine, but there was no grab rail or anti-slip mat , which made it tricky for me. (MS sufferer). The bed, whilst comfortable, was very high, so not easy to sit on. A chair in the bedroom would have been welcome. Upstairs (main living area) was not clean. Pet hair on the surfaces and the floor.Had some hassle trying to pay the 47 for our dog to stay.

Great place to stay

Great dog friendly cottage perfectly located for local walks and an excellent pub. Well equipped and comfortable for us 2 but lounging could be a squeeze for 4. Lots of tech - slightly baffling at times but got used to it including bathroom lights coming on randomly with no movement at night and also turned off whilst in the shower! Heated towel rails were nice but couldn’t seem to control (sometimes on and sometimes off) which made bathrooms very hot when not needed. Note one bedroom has no window. Was a beautiful cottage in wonderful location.

Three night stay for too adults and a 2 year old.

We arrived late Monday afternoon after a long drive and we were delighted with the location and the look of the Studio inside and out. It was a really lovely place to come back to after a long day of exploring the area. We really felt at home there, I regret not booking one extra night. We had everything that we needed at the Studio, the travelcot for our son was ideal. There was plenty of room for him to play with his tractors. We didnt cook much but could see that there was plenty of choice when using utensils. We felt we were staying in real luxury. The sofa was slightly dissapointing, this is a small detail but we have stayed in many places where there is a corner sofa and plenty of room for two or more people to relax. We didnt find this sofa very comforatable but it didn't effect us too much as there were only two of us adults. Sadly we also found the bed slightly hard, I found it difficult to make myself comfortable at night and my husband woke up in the morning with a painful back. Despite this we did manage to sleep quite well. In regards to cleanliness, it was great, very clean on the whole, although when picking clothes from the floor and checking under the bed, we found an old sock and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned under the bed for a while. This is being very picky because other than that the cleaning was pretty perfect. The area was quiet and peaceful and we felt very safe, we would come and stay here and use Bolthole Retreats again. The Studio was a perfect size for us and was in the perfect location. The welcome guide was extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our holiday, and the property and Bolthole Retreats were a big part of that.

Tucked away retreat??

The arrival information email sent a week before mentioned that the a joining property was being renovated and that there were 2 parking spaces. We arrived late afternoon, parked our large estate car and rental car in the parking spaces. Next morning there was a knock on the door, we were still in bed, asking that we move our car to the road as the construction workers were bringing in a tele handler with large bags of stone. We obliged. In the road was a ready mix concrete lorry. Later a site toilet arrived and was placed by the wall next to the Studio outdoor seating area. The builders used the parking space to access next door and leave the tele handler. This is the only access to the building site. We therefore only had one parking space. Our car was in the road all the stay. Obviously the construction work has been going on for some time. An extension is being built plus extensive ground works. A romantic tucked away retreat? Sitting in the garden with a view of a toilet plus builders using machinery.? As soon as building work commenced we and anyone else booking the Studio should have been informed of the situation and been given the opportunity to cancel their booking or offered alternative accommodation. We own a specialist construction company so are aware of all regulations regarding site safety especially when access to the site adjoins another property. We were not aware of any compliance with these regulations. No site safety board etc. I did email the management company at the time but no response. I strongly advise Bolthole retreats to consider improving customer service as a matter of urgency. When booking we were not advised of the situation we would never have booked. We always ensure that we have two parking spaces etc. The property should be as advertised. It’s a pity the Studio was clean and well presented. As in many holiday rentals there was no socket near a mirror for hair drying in bedroom 2 no rubber mat in the shower to prevent slipping and no grab rail. We are very disappointed to say the least ,we had looked forward to our holiday with our family who had come from abroad to be with us.I have been booking quality holiday cottages for many years, this is the first time with this company. All other companies have given excellent customer service. .
