Away from the crowd, Punta Ala is an elegant resort of villas and cottages immersed in the green of the Tuscan coast: a sophisticated harbor with shops and restaurants where you can rent a boat to explore the coves and islands of the archipelago.
The initial stretch of the long sandy beach on the northwest side of the promontory is occupied by elegant beach clubs with bars and restaurants. On the southwest side of the promontory, rocky cliffs dressed in evergreen vegetation are interrupted by several pebble beaches.
The village includes a scenic 18-hole golf course, equestrian facilities for all ages and abilities and tennis courts to rent. Punta Ala hosts also a famous polo tournament. From the harbor you can also join snorkeling expeditions or a sailing school. Several international sailing events take place here.
The village is alive with events, markets, an open-air cinema and concerts during the summer months.
Part of a contained development on the south-west area, Cala dei Pirati is a small cottage, with one double and one single bedroom, renovated with a travertine floor and modern fittings. We provide fine linens for the bedrooms and towels for the bathroom. The double bed cannot be set as twin beds because of the room layout. The large sofa in the living room can become a comfortable double bed.
In addition to the main bathroom, there is a small external toilet with shower and a washing machine. The kitchen is small, but fully fitted, including a dishwasher, fridge, electrical oven and a pod espresso coffee machine.
The property features a large private fenced garden with a beautiful lawn, with sun beds, hammocks and deck chairs. The garden, surrounded by a wood, enjoys a fantastic sea view towards Monte Cristo island.
A parking space is available in the fenced private car park. A pebble beach is just five minutes walking along the steep path down the cliff, while the sand beach is ten - fifteen minutes walking or five minutes drive from the property. The harbor is also at walking distance.
From Punta Ala you can visit some of the old villages and towns of the Tuscan coast, including the famous Massa Marittima, the Etruscan archeological sites of Populonia and Vetulonia, the nature reserve of Parco della Maremma and the several wineries of the region.
