The neighborhood is quiet and it is an ideal basis to join Vatican City by foot in five minutes. In the neighborhood I suggest a vegetable shop in via delle Fornaci 55 for a quick salad. From the colonnade you can join Borgo Pio or come back to the apartment and walk up to Janiculum Hill. From there you can join via Garibaldi et while admiring the view reach Trastevere, Horto Botanico and Villa Farnesina.Apart from a classical tour of Musei Vaticani and Cappella Sistina, here you have the opportunity to range from roman architecture with a Palatino, Fori e Mercati Traianei visit through early Cristian architecture (S.Stefano Rotondo), romanic (S.Sabina cloitre), and baroque style ( St Ivo alla Sapienza dome), up to modern and contemporary art (Viale delle Belle Arti Museum). Bernini masterpiece Is the Little Elephant (Piazza della Minerva).
If you like roman architecture and sculpture visit Musei Capitolini go to the Tabularium to enjoy a magnificent view of Fori Imperiali. For an overview of the Forums, walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali illuminated at night, if you have half day to dedicate you can opt for a more specific visit to the Palatine and to the Forums by day. I suggest a Daily tour in Via Appia Antica (regina viarum). Take 118 in piazzale Numa Pompilio and visit Villa dei Quintili ! Don' t forget Piazza Mattei in Jewish neighbourhood with its turtle fountaon and eventually choose a quality amd relaxing hammam Acqua Madre (symbol of our relation with the mother hearth).
