The Old Barn and Le Cerisier are gites attached to our 150 year old Catalan Mas. They are stone built and have exposed beams & rafters. Open plan lounge/dining room areas with fireplaces, comfy sofas, TV, DVD stereo/cd player. Fully equipped kitchens to cater for your every need.

Outside there is private terrace space for each, with hand built traditional Catalan BBQ, table,chairs and parasol.. Beautiful mature gardens with swings/slide/seesaw, & a giant Jenga, safe & secluded from the road. Tables & chairs are provided here & there amid the trees for you to chill out. The terraces and gardens are lit up at night for al fresco dining in the warm evenings.
Shady peaceful summer kitchen with lockable double french doors opening to poolside, with BBQ, fridge, & utility room with sink, shower, toilet & washing machine for use of all guests.
The stunning secluded 13.5m x 6m pool, private for occupants of both gites, is family orientated, with perimeter overflow & roman steps. The segregated toddler pool is only 40cm deep and enables little ones to get in & out on their own, encouraging confidence in the water. Huge relaxing decking area with sunbeds, parasols, tables & chairs , security gate & fence. We use a salt disinfection system, kind to skin and eyes, no chlorine smell or taste. Red squirrels & birds come & drink from the pool. The peaceful secluded gardens are a haven to many species of birds, including exotic Hoopoes from Africa.

Mas Mimosa is a wonderful base to explore the Languedoc Roussillon region with all it has to offer. Stunning chateaux with vineyards & wine-tasting. Towns steeped in history with wonderful architecture, Carcassonne, Castelnou, & Ceret to name a few, Ceret has a wonderful market on Saturday morning.
There are markets most days in the numerous squares; we have a flea market every Sunday on the outskirts of Perpignan either a 15 walk or a 2 minute drive. They sell an eclectic mix of clothes, antiques & some wonderful fabrics & curtains. streets. On Saurday and Sunday at Canet Plage they sell an eclectic mix but this includes food, wine, herbs & spices, Treat yourself to spit roast chicken or home-made couscous, paella or a local speciality ‘boles du picolat’ (meatballs in sauce). all which smell wonderful.
In July & August Perpignan hosts 'Les Jeudis' free Thursday evening festivals, street theatre , dance & acrobats, whereby the city is filled with people meandering around in the warm night air.
Perpignan is full of shops,restaurants & cafes, Canet plage 10 mins drive, has many bars & restaurants, & in the summer beach bars are set up.
Many nearby towns were visited and painted by famous artists, such as Picasso, Dali & Matisse. Perpignan, Ceret & Collioure both have museums & art galleries. The Cathar castles are fascinating to visit.
Perpignan was declared ' the centre of the universe' by Dali, after whom the train station is named.
Spain with its border of duty free shops is 25 mins away, La Jonquera has large supermarkets and an outlet centre for some top brands. Figueres with the Dali museum , an hour,
Barcelona with the amazing Sagrada Familia is 2 hours away.
In the peak season Ryanair has flights into Perpignan airport , this changes in mid season and varies year to year. They also serve Carcassonne & Bezier airports.
