October trip

Colin and Liz have created a beautiful home from home. Badgers Holm is so comfortable and beautifully presented. It is extremely well equipped. Perfectly placed for exploring all that Masham and the surrounding Yorkshire countryside has to offer.

Badger’s Holy

We stayed for a week in September. The house was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Masham has a good variety or shops and pubs right on your doorstep. Some great local walks too. Highly recommended.

Masham on the doorstep

We were given a very warm welcome by the owners. The house has everything needed and the centre of Masham (and its breweries) are only a short stroll away.

Hot times in Masham

Lovely property well-placed for exploring Yorkshire. Owners were very welcoming & the property was very well thought out. Despite blistering temperatures we enjoyed many local attractions; can recommend the White Bear for a special meal ( best to book - we were lucky to get a table as walk-ins).

Great location for exploring the Dales

The property was very well equipped and in excellent condition. Masham was within easy walking distance with a surprising number of places to eat and drink, including two breweries, as well as 2 butchers a greengrocer and bakers. Wensleydale, Wharfedale and Swaledale are within easy driving distance.

A week away in Masham

Lovely house to stay in for a week away in this great part of the country. Very peaceful - loved having no neighbours next door! This was our second visit and we would definitely stay again when we are next in this area. Liz, the owner, was very friendly and helpful.

Lovely stay away from home.

Home from home. Secluded. Comfy. Lots of local walks. Great local food and beer. Well situated, lots to do nearby and a little further afield. Would consider staying again. Property owners at hand if needed.

A warm bath of sheer perfection

Our stay at Badger's Holt meant a new highlight in our holidays to the UK and Scotland. After a warm welcome - thank you for the gift basket! - we had the pleasure to enjoy a week's stay in a really perfect house in Masham. Everything was available and in perfect working condition. Masham is a splendid starting point for trips due to its location. Our hosts -Liz and Colin- were very pleasant and always willing tot help.

Fabulous cottage

Hosts Colin and Liz were very welcoming, providing a generous welcome pack. The cottage is very, very well equipped - we wanted for nothing, and really comfy. Only a 10 minute walk to village centre with plenty of good places to eat and drink. It's a fantastic base to explore surrounding towns and countryside, lots of information leaflets provided if you don't know the area. Wonderful holiday - even the unpredictable weather behaved!

Quiet and cosy

We enjoyed a delightful stay at Badger’s Holt. We were met by the owners, Liz and Colin, on arrival. Lovely, welcoming people who gave us a quick guide around the house and some local knowledge of pubs and eateries. They asked us to call on them if we so desired, but that they would leave us to our own devices otherwise. Perfect hosts! There was a lovely welcome package including bread, milk, tea, instant coffee, sugar, a package of luxury cookies, wine and chocolate cream eclairs! We’ve never encountered such generosity in a free welcome package before, it’s normally the kind of service that is paid for so that the pantry isn’t bare on arrival. The house contained absolutely everything necessary, including an ironing board and iron, which you won’t see in many ‘apartments’. A great addition was a washing machine, with an outside line and pegs, and a clothes maiden for inside if it rains. It really was an entire house set right at the end of the garden, overlooking green fields and big trees. It felt like a tardis, huge rooms in what appeared to be a small building. I could easily have moved in. There were three bedrooms, one en-suite, and one separate bathroom with a bath (and a downstairs toilet!). All beautifully furnished, with comfy mattresses and so much storage that I’m confident would never be inadequate! The location is the last house on the edge of the village heading south. The house is set so far back that with even the windows open we didn’t hear any road noise. We did hear sheep and a hooting owl at night. Wonderful! Many, many thanks to Liz and Colin for a perfect stay!

Perfect for us

There were two of us staying at Badger’s Holt so we had plenty of room although with two bathrooms and a downstairs loo it is perfect for larger groups too. The property was clean, comfortable and well maintained and well equipped too. It’s in a great location for walks from the door and 5 minutes walk into town for visits to pubs, restaurants and, of course, breweries. Masham is lovely and part of its charm means there is a shortage of off road parking in the centre so having parking space at the property was a real bonus. Our hosts Colin and Liz were very friendly and welcoming and provided a lovely selection of goodies and essentials that were much appreciated. We may not be able to revisit this year but we definitely want to return.
