Region: Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
Town: Honiton is a charming market town in East Devon. It's bordered by Devon hills, green wooded valleys, and farming communities. Honiton's High Street features stores, taverns, and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since Elizabeth I's reign, and the town's Allhallows Museum features some exquisite specimens. The Thelma Hulbert Gallery is East Devon's only public art gallery. It's housed in a Grade I Victorian home and has ties to London's Hayward Gallery.
