Fascinating ancient tower in the Parco Nazionale dei Monti Sibillini. Breathtaking view, pool, heate
Rocca Fermana was built in 1080 A.D. as a watch tower to defend the Marca Fermana. Situated in an enchanting setting between the Monte Sibilla, the Gola dellâInfernaccio and the medieval village of Montefortino, it rises on a spur of rock from which it dominates the surrounding valley.
Today the old Tower is a beautiful resort, set as a jewel in the center of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, designed for those seeking peace, relaxation and meditation.
The park that branches off around the structure is enriched with artistic creations that refer to the Land Art, inside there is a private amphitheater where you can enjoy unique sunsets.
A lovely pool with heated jacuzzi offers a breathtaking view.
The villa is divided into two apartments: Inferno, located on the ground floor and able to accommodate 2+2 people, and Sibilla, located on the first floor where 5 guests can stay. The entire structure has max capacity of 9 guests.
Near Montefortino there are many architectural and natural sites to discover, first of all the Sanctuary of the Madonna dellâAmbro, an ancient Marian place of worship among the most important in the Marche Region.
Many trails that are lost among the gentle peaks of the National Park of Monti Sibillini depart in places near the villa.
One of most fascinating trekking trail is the one of the Gole dellâInfernaccio (starting point about 3 km from the property): natural gorges dug over hundreds of thousands of years by the River Tenna between Monte Priora and the Sibilla, a simple walk accessible to children allows in about an hour to get to the hermitage of San Leonardo.
The villa is composed by 2 apartements for a totally 250sqm disposend on 3 levels, and can accommodate up to 9 guests in 3 double bedrooms (one with freech bed) and 1 single room, sofabed, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living/dining rooms with fireplace.
Inferno:
Elegance careful attention to detail are the traits of this apartment on the ground floor of the medieval tower.
Throughout the apartment the architectural elements preserved in the restoration blend with modern design elements giving a result of extreme comfort and refinement.
The living room with rollaway kitchen area on the ground floor leads to a lush courtyard, like a balcony into the mountain. The double bedroom and bathroom with double access are prime examples of a skilled and creative restoration with refined materials.
Sibilla:
Sibilla is an apartment arranged on different floors in which particular attention has been given to materials in order to respect the origins of this place,
In every corner of this apartment, through windows and small openings, the landscape enters with all its strength and charm until you reach a dome that, with great surprise, opens onto the starry sky.
As soon as you step in this apartment on the first floor, which accommodates 5 people, you feel the special care devoted to comply with the origins of this fortress as well as to harmonise architecture, materials, and colours with the enchanted landscape. The dining room with a fully equipped kitchen placed behind a sliding door, looks onto a terrace where it is possible to enjoy the sun and a breathtaking landscape view of the Gola dellâInfernaccio and the small hilltop villages on the surrounding mountains. On the second floor there are: a single bedroom, a double bedroom and a bathroom, while on the third floor there is another double bedroom and a bathroom with whirlpool tub.
The landscape reaches every corner of this apartment through the windows, the small openings and even through a dome â surprisingly placed over the master bed that allows to sleep admiring the star-spangled sky.
