Originally a fisherman’s cottage, you are tucked away from the high street in the village of Loftus, with a small stream running past the front door. The owners have taken great care in completely renovating this property at the beginning of 2022 to provide a high-quality holiday home with everything required to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Inside you have a snug living area, with cosy sofas around the TV.
Step down into the dining area which is open plan with the bespoke modern kitchen. There is a door from the kitchen leading out into the small rear yard with outdoor seating. Upstairs there are three beautifully presented bedrooms. A master king bedroom with a wardrobe and drawers for your belongings, plus a double bedroom again with plenty of storage, as well as a bunk bedroom.
There is a family bathroom with a shower over the corner bath, perfect for starting each day refreshed and ready for a day of discovery. This property benefits from its own private parking space, just 50 yards down the road in a designated parking bay. This area is great for explorers, there is something to suit everyone’s tastes. The glorious Yorkshire coast is within 2 miles away.
Starting with Skinningrove, a peaceful beautiful beach just a 30 minute steady stroll from the cottage, is great for fossil hunting; further along the coast is gorgeous Runswick Bay, picturesque Staithes, the surfers’ paradise of Saltburn and the historic seafaring town of Whitby with its long golden beach stretching to Sandsend. For walkers there are walking trails across the national park, and within walking distance of stunning beaches, which include the Cleveland Way along the cliff tops, or Roseberry Topping which offers stunning panoramic views.
If you are fascinated by history visit Guisborough Priory and Whitby Abbey, as well as museums including Staithes Heritage Museum, Whitby’s Captain Cook Museum and Hutton le Holes Folk Museum. On the moors there are many rural villages to visit, or why not enjoy a trip on the steam train to take in the scenery.
For the adventurous there are water sports including white water rafting, sailing and paddle boarding at Tees Barrage and Scaling Dam, as well as surf schools in Saltburn, Sandsend and Whitby. In Dalby Forest you can zip wire through the treetops.
For younger children Flamingo Land theme park and zoo is less than an hour away. The Fisherman’s Cottage is the perfect choice for those looking for somewhere extra special.
