The Palmetto community is lovely. The house is very nice and layout of house is great! The house itself was clean. We had problems with cleanliness of pool. We arrived on Saturday and didn't get to swim in pool until Tuesday evening. The pool service came twice but the sides and bottom of the pool still had algae and needed a good cleaning but no one ever cleaned the sides or bottom of pool. One of the reasons I chose this house was for the pool and my grandkids were not very happy when they couldn't swim. Overall the house is beautiful and location is good. I was just very disappointed with pool.

Not ideal for short stays.

Although we enjoyed our stay and the house was beautiful, I am giving this property a 4 star review. We had an 3 night stay (Thurs-Sun). Upon arrival, there was black debris all over the pool flooring. We requested cleaning on Friday morning and the cleaner did not come until mid-day Saturday, then informed us we had to wait for 2 hours prior to swimming. We booked this rental specifically for the pool, so we were only able to enjoy a clean pool for a few hours later Saturday afternoon. There also were no basic kitchen supplies such as: coffee filters, trash bags, or salt/pepper. The perk of a rental house is basic supplies are stocked so you don’t have to waste time/money on these, unfortunately we did. Overall, the house was beautiful and spacious (as pictured!) however I would not recommend it for a 3 night stay.

Amazing house, disappointing pool/hot tub situation

Our week at this home was a fun one. The quality of the home was fantastic and the size allowed a large group like ours to be able to have privacy when wanted. We very much enjoyed the amount of rooms and space. The dunes buggy made activities very convenient and beach days were a breeze. The only complaint we have is about the pool and hot tub. When we arrived, the pool was green and very cloudy. We did not wish to swim in it in that condition. After calling to have somebody come work on it, we had hoped that the pool would clear up and be in better condition within a day. But unfortunately it stayed green, and it wasn't until our last day that the cloudiness had gone away and the green color had mostly subsided. On our next to last day, the hot tub also began to turn green. And at that point we had just decided to let it be. It was just unfortunate because our decision to book a vacation home ultimately comes down to if it has a pool/hot tub. And while we still had a fun week and enjoyed the home, the pool situation left us fairly disappointed.

Perfect multi family college graduation trip

Everything was perfect- even better than expected. The listing was accurate but we couldn’t picture the layout and were so happy with it when we arrived. The home has a very open feel with multiple seating areas. We were there for my daughter’s college graduation from Georgia Southern Savannah campus along with her best friends’s family. We had 11 adults and this house gave everyone the opportunity for plenty of together time while also giving us space to not be on top of each other. We really appreciated how the home was set up with 4 bedrooms essentially in different corners of the main floor with essentially 3 living rooms with seating outside of them. There also were 2 tables for eating in addition to the bar seating in the kitchen allowing everyone space to eat comfortably. The Master was huge with its own seating area and then there was another master room that is essentially the 2nd floor. I wasn’t sure of the layout when we arrived, but was so happy with the perfect way this accommodated multi families with adult children. The pool and hot tub made the property. Such a great outside area. It is 2 miles to the community beach parking and 1 mile to the closest beach access if walking. The free activities were great. We arranged for a bike to be waiting for us when we arrived and pick up when we left and that worked perfectly and was included. We had several golfers in the group and took advantage of the free round of golf each day on great courses. Loved everything!

Great for big families

The house was wonderful for hosting our generational cousins’ get together. Very well-stocked kitchen and spacious. Beds could be a bit comfier, but still a decent night’s sleep because everyone was able to spread out. Hot tub and pool fun, even during Christmas week. Beautiful grounds, just is a big drive to house once you get into Palmetto Dunes complex. Beach about a 20-minute pleasant walk. Kids enjoyed the General Store again on this visit too! :-)

Perfect for a large family vacation

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful family Christmas at 49 Off Shore. This home comfortably slept 9 adults. We were so appreciative that we could include our mini dachshunds for the week as well. Beautiful and spacious kitchen and common areas as well as master suite. The kitchen had every pot, pan, appliance, glass, mug, serving utensil etc that we could have possibly needed. The weather was incredibly cold when we were there so we were thankful to have the hot tub. Only half of the jets worked, but we didn’t mind enough to bother maintenance to come out. This gorgeous home is starting to show some age, however and could use a bit of tlc and a new washer and dryer. That said, it is seriously a fabulous home and I would recommend it to anyone!

Beautiful property

We loved our time in HHI. This is our third trip to HHI and we always use VRBO for our bookings. This house is in a wonderful gated community surrounded by other beautiful homes. It was packed with far more than what we needed for our stay. We were presently surprised at the accuracy of the listing except the location to the beach. It makes it seem it was in walking distance but that is a 39 minute walk which was too far for our elderly grandmother. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed the hot tub. We also enjoyed the dock and fed the multiple turtles that swam right up! The upstairs bedroom had some stains in the carpet but considering it was dog friendly and we brought a pet, we were ok and over looked it. There was however some things that could have been cleaned up better but was no fault in the condition of the home only the cleaning staff. Overall we would love to spend another long weekend in this home! It was charming!

Things can happen but what about being fair ?

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Yes , a cabinet door in the kitchen was broken , the refrigerator shelves leaked beaded water daily on our food , one comforter in the twin bedroom had a large stain (yuk) but the main issue was the fact that the dryer broke on Sunday and could not be repaired ... and you are told YOU can take your laundry 15 minutes away , up 15 steps to an apartment to dry them .. had to ask for a laundry basket too but initially was told “ can’t you transport your wet clothes and towels in a bag ????” .. asked to be reimbursed $500 for the week .. the answer was no .. I get it , things happen but , polite , good customer service is key when we all spend quite a bit of money for a reasonable beach house .We’ve been coming to HHI for over 20 years , this is the first time we had a bigger prob and asked for help .Won’t be renting through Vacation Homes of HHI again .

Enjoyable stay

The house was very clean with the exception of the carpet which was quite stained. The kitchen was well stocked. Dryer was not heating . We notified the property manager on Monday who said previous renters had notified them about the issue, but it was Thursday before it was fixed. There were other issues but mostly just inconveniences. The grandkids wanted to fish in the lagoon but there were so many mosquitoes we ended up going elsewhere for them to fish. Overall if it were closer to the beach I would stay there again. Worked well for our family.

Great Family Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great rental for a large family. The pool is a great addition to the trip! Make sure you have bug spray though for when you are in the backyard! Being on the water with the dock and all the trees made it a haven for mosquitoes. The beach is a healthy walk away. You need to be prepared with a beach cart (if you have things to take) You can rent bikes if you ride—that’s a plus. Overall a great rental in a good neighborhood!

First Visit to Hilton Head

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home space fit our needs and was very comfortable. The decor and condition of the home was acceptable. The distance to the beach was inconvenient and would be the only reason I would not stay in the home. We did not use the shuttle which may have made it a little easier to get back and forth to the beach. We had other family members staying outside Palmetto Dunes and it was not convenient for them to come for quick visits. I did talk to the rental company prior to our visit and was under the impression we just had to notify guard we were having visitors. The guards would not let them through even though I notified them.

The kitchen, aside from a smallish oven, was the best stocked kitchen of any vacation home we've ever stayed in. The pool was properly heated as was the hot tub - very important for a chilly November stay. A bike ride away from the beach - about ten minutes, and also about five to sometimes ten minutes drive out of the Palmetto Dunes resort depending on traffic. Great place and we would be happy to return to this home.

Lovely home - everything was clean and in working order. We had a small issue with some broken glass on the backyard due to a previous storm, but it was handled promptly and completely. We’ll definitely book with your company again - thank you!

Wonderful property , we’ll equipped with everything you need. Pool was our favorite part.

We usually stay in the shipyard in a villa when it’s just the hubby and I. This was our first time renting a large home for our family of 7. The neighborhood is absolutely stunning! The two master suites were very private. The 2 king beds were essential for our party. All beds were comfortable except the full size. This home is very nice and tastefully decorated. We spent the extra money to heat the pool. Best decision ever. We tried to live in it the entire stay. I recommend this property to anyone who wants space with your party.
