We stayed here for 8 nights in May and wish we could have stayed longer! Margherita was so helpful and communicated with us from the very beginning. She offered to call and make dinner reservations for us and she was always quick to answer any questions we had. On the day we checked in, she met us at the parking lot outside the old town entrance and showed us where to park our rental car. She then loaded us and our luggage in her car and drove us to the apartment. The parking spot was only about 3/10 of a mile from the apartment and not a long walk at all so we could have easily taken our luggage on foot (which we did when we left). But it was so nice of Margherita to meet us and take us there and then show us around the apartment. There is a paid lot at Porta Colonia but Margherita showed us a street that went down the side of the lot that has free parking and we always found a space there when returning from a day trip. If you're worried about parking outside the old town and being too far away from your apartment, don't be. It's easy in, easy out. The pictures don't convey how awesome this apartment is. There are 2 balconies, but the one on the west side has a small table and chairs where we watched incredible Tuscan sunsets in the evening and enjoyed coffee in the mornings. There is A/C in the master bedroom and the living room, but we only used it in the bedroom at night. You can open up all the windows front to back and enjoy the breezes since this apartment is higher up with great views. There were two other smaller bedrooms with twin beds that we really didn't need but we chose to have more space in exchange for the incredible views. The kitchen is adorable and had everything we needed. Margherita had a basket with espresso capsules, tea bags, snacks, etc. The Lavazza espresso maker was nice to have too! We enjoyed meeting Margherita the first day and felt like we'd known her much longer so we invited her to have dinner with us one night. We had a wonderful time talking and sharing stories and by the time we left town, we felt like we had a true friend in Cortona. We also felt like the apartment was a 2nd home and it was so hard to leave on that last day. I was worried that booking 8 days in Cortona would be too long and I ended up regretting not staying there the entire 2 weeks. We can't wait to return to the Roof Top Nest for a much longer stay and to visit our new friend! :)
