Difficult to get to with luggage compared to the average American hotel, but every second lugging the suitcases to this beautiful property was worth it. Communication was made easy and they even coordinated parking in a nearby covered garage. I do not recommend driving here but the stay itself was lovely and very much the highlight of my trip. I recommend this location to those familiar with the coast and wanting to see it a bit more intimately.

Nice quaint property in Vettica, a short bus ride from Amalfi with beautiful beaches. The property is in a great location and has a great outdoor space with lovely ocean views. The bedroom is comfortable and comes with AC. The kitchen is quite small and beneath a slanted roof, so can be fairly claustrophobic. Otherwise, we had a great stay here! Patrizia was a great host.

Amazing Vacation

The accomodation was very romantic and clean, and the owner are super helpfull. If you rent a scooter you can get anywhere pretty easily and there is a nice market on top of the stairs. We will definetley come back here!

Italian Oasis

The property looked exactly like the photos, but honestly the photos didn’t do enough justice. This is a PRIME location and definitely an Italian gem. The owners were both extremely responsive and communicative. Their recommendations were great and they definitely were not over exaggerating about all the stairs ( lol ). Overall, an amazing property accompanied by amazing scenery. 10/10, I will be back to this exact spot!

Good deal - good to familiarize with location ahead of time

This is a great little spot to stay and quite economical. The view is so beautiful and relaxing. Communication with the hosts and instructions on how to check in are perfect and the complete video instructions provided were super helpful. The challenges with this spot are only around the location and the unique place that Amalfi is. Once you know how to use the local bus system, it’s pretty handy, but it’s not easy to get around if you don’t know what you’re doing. And to choose this spot (as many spots in Amalfi) you need to be able to handle your share of stairs!Overall it was a great experience!

Amazing Property and Location!

If you’re staying at this property in Amalfi, you’re lucky!! Very clean, excellent communication with the host and excellent location. The porch and the view were wonderful - we spent most of our time enjoying the view and the large porch! The kitchen was great to cook in, bedroom very comfortable (AC was a nice benefit!), all the books and help from the host were wonderful. We will be staying here again on our next visit to Amalfi!

Quiet respite outside Amalfi

This was a cute space with everything you need for a short vacation. We would strongly recommend you rent a scooter if you want to explore other towns. There is a small market, but other than that not as much close by. There are buses, but they fill up quickly and there is a lot of traffic depending on when you go. It is not really walkable due to the narrow streets with cars and buses whizzing by. Once we got our scooter, we felt the location was a nice break from the chaotic, touristy amalfi. The apartment was great except for the mold in the bedroom and the bathroom.

Beautiful view

The apt is quaint and equipped with all of the essentials. The air conditioner wasn’t nearly powerful enough to cool the apt if this is important to you. It’s very hot. The owners had someone bring over a large fan which helped circulate air a few days in. They were very accommodating in helping us secure a scooter (which we highly recommend) in order to get around the Amalfi Coast. The views are breathtakingly beautiful and the food is divine to say the least. The apt location is great and close to the market and shopping.

Can't beat the Amalfi coast

Great retreat from the hussel and bustle of life. Although as stated elsewhere, only for the those in good shape. Lots of steps for every where you go. If you don't like great vistas and great cardio, don't come here and don't complain if you do. Don't expect public transportation as it will take you forever to get around if you do. Walk at least 1000 steps to the beach straight down is nice stone beach with a couple of restaurants and umbrella chairs combos. Down and to the right is a fantastic restaurant called Cielo Mare Terra which will give you a ride back after dinner. The service and food outstanding but charge accordingly for that quality of restaurant.

Great location with a lot of steps...

We enjoyed our stay in this small vacation rental. The views from the outside Terrace are fantastic. Not really any views from the inside . Very convenient to have a little supermarket right at the top of the stairs, as well as the bus stop. I do recommend renting a car or scooter, it is so much easier to get around that way. We were here in July so it was really really hot. The apartment is equipped with everything, with a lot of attention to details. The owner helped us swiftly work out a snafu with the Wi-Fi, thank you again for that. We knew about the stairs, but underestimated it a little bit. So if you don't mind them, this is a great place to stay. Quiet and peaceful at night. The only thing, the beds are really hard. The owner is super nice and was available for any questions and even helped us get a transport on our leaving day to the harbor.

Beautiful Amalfi coastline

The property description was very accurate and the terrace really is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast , lunch or dinner with beautiful views along the coast. Patrizia was always very prompt replying to any queries and the information she provided covering everything from how to reach the apartment to the best beaches was all spot on and incredibly helpful. We used the telephone number she provided to book a private transfer from the airport as we were arriving after public transport had stopped. This was so easy to arrange and our driver was waiting exactly where they said they would be. Nunzia who looks after the apartment was waiting to meet us despite it being nearly midnight and even with the language barrier managed to convey all the essential information about market, buses, beaches and restaurants etc. She is lovely and had even provided us with some drinks, fruit and snacks. We traveled everywhere by bus, boat or foot which is very easy to do. People aren’t kidding about the amount of steps, but all that exercise means you can enjoy more lovely Italian food and wine! Great place for exploring the fabulous Amalfi Coast.

The Authentic Amalfi Experience - For Better and Worse

The Pros: - spacious terrace with a beautiful view of the ocean and coastline. -Beautiful and Quiet area -Market Nearby -Spacious apartment with a decent size bathroom -Kitchen is functional if you choose to cook your own meals. The Cons: -It is a workout to get to the front door if you are accessing the apt from the lower road. Lots of steps! If you are not able-bodied enough for a decent hike to get to the unit, you will not have a good time. -It does not seem safe to walk on the roads (narrow winding cliffside roads, no sidewalks, fast traffic), and there are no restaurants very close, so getting dinner nearby can be a challenge. Also many restaurants within 1km of the apt were inexplicably closed on a Tues/Wed night. -There is no landline phone in the unit. We were hoping to call a restaurant for food delivery, but that was not an option. -All the beaches nearby were closed for the season and we were not informed of this. - Busses can be challenging to navigate from the apt. - Kitchen ceilings are very low - Microwave is broken - There is a Drip Coffee machine, but filters are not available for purchase nearby (we ended up using the Moka) -Getting a bus back to this area from Amalfi was a sh*t show. Long unorganized lines, packed busses etc. Overall I'm glad we had the experience, but staying in this area of Amalfi is a logistical challenge. Walkability was really tough w/ narrow roads and lack of nearby restaurants.

Some clarifications - the property should be accessed from above not below, this is written several times in the instructions available and in the video instructions - there are 2 restaurant (pizza and seafood) just below the apartment on the main road to Positano, just going down the steps on the right, also written in the instructions and videos - with mobile phones available, a landline phone is useless - Microwave works, just need to connect into the electric socket - About the beaches, maybe in november the services at the beaches are closed, bus the beaches are open, as a beach does not "close" - About the busses, there are several videos we sent you on how to go and return from Amalfi. Kleines Paradies

Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war ausgezeichnet und die Wohnung hat für uns alles gehabt, was wir brauchten. Nähe zur Bushaltestelle, (auch wenn man ein Auto hat, so möchte man nicht immer dieses bewegen) und zum kleinen Supermarkt oberhalb der Wohnung. Die Ruhe nach dem Trubel in den Städten tat sehr gut. Unbedingt über den Vermieter einen Parkplatz ( ist in einer Garage) reservieren lassen. Es sollte klein Essen offen herumliegen. Wenn man diesen Rat des Vermieters folgt, dann gibt’s auch keine Ameiseninvasion! Vereinzelte gibt es dennoch, aber das ist kein Problem! Die Terrasse ist das Highlight!!

Unterkunft wie beschrieben :) Leider hatten wir auch Probleme mit Ameisen im Bad, aber das liegt wohl daran, dass die Unterkunft auch recht ländlich liegt. Um zu der Unterkunft zu kommen, muss man schon einige Treppen steigen, aber das ist machbar! Bushaltestelle ist in der Nähe, nur leider wird man wenn der Bus voll ist nicht mitgenommen und muss dann ca 45min zu Fuß in die Stadt laufen

Vielen Dank für die Bewertung! Leider kommt es im August bei großer Hitze vor, dass es Ameisen gibt. Es ist unmöglich, sie alle aufzuhalten, aber es passiert hauptsächlich in den heißesten Wochen. Was die Busse betrifft, so ist die mittlere Woche im August die mit den meisten Touristen, und daher schaffen es die Busse nicht, alle zu befördern. Bis nach Amalfi sind es 2,5 km bergab. Die benötigte Zeit hängt davon ab, wie schnell man geht und wie oft man anhält, um die Aussicht zu genießen.

einmalig tolle Lage und wunderschöner Blick mit einem Wermutstropfen

Die Lage ist einmalig. Der Blick von der Terasse über Amalfi und die Bucht unfassbar schön. Die Nutzung der Wohnung und Terasse völlig unkompliziert. Aber: Auf der wunderschönen Terasse stehen Möbel, die ihre besten Zeiten weit hinter sich gelassen haben (Sitzbank löst sich auseinander; kleiner grüner Tisch mit abgebrochenen Brettern). Unnötig aber egal; weil in Amalfi geniesst man das Leben :-). Bitter ist allerdings die Ameiseninvasion. Da habe ich ganze Überzeugungsarbeit geleistet, damit meine Familie nicht am dritten Tag auszieht. Dreimal täglich wischen, keinerlei Essensreste zurücklassen, Ameisenpulver versteuen: Das interessiert die Ameisen kein bisschen. Die Ameisenstraße ändert nur die Richtung. Eklig. Dann ein Glück die rettende Idee: Die Klimaanlage den ganzen Tag auf Blitzkrieg (wir nutzen Klimaanlagen so selten wie möglich) und die Ameiseninvasion war gestoppt. Ameisen ab diesem Tag in erträglicher Anzahl. Man sollte sehr gut zu Fuß sein. Die Wohnung liegt 200 Treppenstufen unterhalb der Straße (dort ist ein super netter Einkaufsladen und die Kirche). Wenn man von der Wohnung zur Staatsstraße runterläuft sind das 400 Stufen und zum Strand sind es mindestens 1 km zu Fuß und nochmals unzählige Stufen. Wir können nun sagen, dass das Wadentraining abgeschlossen ist :-) Noch eine Info für alle Optimisten, hat nichts mit der Unterkunft zu tun. Unbedingt einen Parkplatz mitbuchen, sonst wird man das Auto nirgends los (hat der Vermieter schnell und toll vermittelt)

Schöne Aussicht!

Sehr schöne kleine Wohnung mit traumhaften Blick aufs Meer. Sehr nette Und hilfreiche Gastgeber. Wir haben die verschiedenen Hilfevideos für die Unterkunft und auch zu den verschiedenen Spots sehr häufig genutzt und fanden generell alles sehr angenehm und hilfreich. Wer gut zu Fuß ist und ein bisschen Zeit für die Parkplatzsuche aufbringen will, um einen wunderschönen Ausblick nachdem aufstehen zu genießen, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben.

Super schöne lage. Mit dem auto etwas umständlich aber es geht. Besser mit öffentlichen Verkehr, obwohl dieser manchmal auch voll ist. Laufen geht auch, ca. 45min nach amalfi.
