Beautiful accommodation in pictures surroundings

We stayed for 4 nights at the stunning Chateau, and was greeted by the friendly hosts upon our arrival. The 1. class gites was of a very high standard in pictures surroundings.

Great place to stay and wonderful hosts!

We had a wonderful week here in the Vendee. The location and property are beautiful and Pauline and Doug are excellent hosts, they couldn't have done more for us, providing a warm welcome, some unexpected treats and plenty of information on the area and it's attractions. The property made a great base from which to visit the area but also a place to chill out in the sun and relax. Local facilities were not far away and the journey there was easy given the proximity to the motorway.

Gorgeous gite, could not have been better

The warm welcome from Pauline set the tone for our holiday here - the gite is beautiful, and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need - beach towels, beach umbrella, barbecue, plus loads of books, games and dvds that we didn't even get round to because of the gorgeous weather! Beautiful area and plenty to do, you can be as busy or as lazy as you want.

superb accommodation in beautiful setting

A most comfortable apartment, spacious and with style. Pauline and Doug have done a terrific job in creating a welcoming, smart gite which makes a place in which to spend some relaxing time as well as being a well positioned base to explore Vendee and Deux Sevres. We had five very comfortable nights and nothing negative to mention. The fact that we did not need to think about anything meant that Pauline and Doug make perfect hosts.

Fantastic gite in a lovely part of France

Superb week at La Retail. The gite is immaculately decorated and the hosts can’t do enough to help. Even made dinner for us when we arrived late from the ferry. Great location in France with many areas to explore and see locally such as La Rochelle and Putly de Fouy. The gite is stocked with everything you could ever need & there is a local hyper market close by for buying food. We’ll definitely be back!

Quiet stay in open counrtyside

Had planned to stay here for a wedding. Unfortunately the wedding was cancelled and we were too late to get a refund so went ahead with the booking. The downstairs rooms are great but upstairs bedrooms too small and have no windows. It was very hot. The barn is south facing so had to keep curtains and doors closed all day to try to keep barn cool, only opening late evening to let fresh air in.There is a small sitting out/ dining area on gravel behind the barn overlooking the owners garden.

Très beau séjour de retrouvailles familiales, dans une belle région.

Excellent logement

L'accueil de Pauline était très chaleureux. Elle nous a conseillé en particulier quelques promenades à pied, à proximité. Le gite est très bien équipé, la literie particulièrement confortable. Je le conseille sans hésitation.

Séjour impeccable servi par un cadre exceptionnel et une hôtesse incroyable

En famille, nous avons trouvé au Retail ce que nous étions venus chercher: charme d'un logement fonctionnel, spacieux et chargé d'histoire. Pauline, notre hôtesse, est conviviale et aux petits soins. Sa disponibilité et sa bonne humeur sont appréciables. Tout est pensé pour vivre un séjour confortable. Nous recommandons !!!!!!
