Palais des Remparts is an authentic 18th century palace in the famous loire valley walled city of Loches. Offering sumptuous accommodation and idyllic gardens and views in walking distance of restaurants and shops.
The Palace sits behind high gates and battlements offering unique calm and security. It enjoys a large garden with areas to sit, dine and sun bathe.
Inside the estate the bedrooms are located in the Palace and its Pavilion. Many of the rooms feature silk and fabric walls with real gold ceiling details.
Must visit The Royal lodge in loches 80 metres away, the donjon keep 70 metres away both available on the same ticket. Cathedral st ours next door free.
Natureo swimming lake and aqua park 1 km away
Dozens of restaurants and shops in the town. ‘Arbore et sens’ and ‘ l‘ptit restau ‘ are particularly good as is the terrace bar and restaurant the Cite royal hotel best western.
Within 1 hour you can visit Chateaux chenonceau, amboise, villandry, usse, zoo park beauval and the city of Tours. Fast train to paris in 1 hour and international airport.

The Chateau exceeded expectations in comfort, facilities and location. The Royal Cite was a special place and Loches village was lovely and only a couple of minutes walk away. As we were staying there over Christmas the hosts thoughtfully provided a tree and decorations for us. It was a pleasant and relaxing stay.

Incredible stay again

As beautiful as we remembered. The house is stunning, spotlessly clean and perfectly located. We didn't want to leave! Satya, the local contact is always available and nothing is ever too much trouble. Excellent communication throughout.

Luxury in the royal city

Wonderful old Villa with spectacular views right in the middle of the cite royale. Don't miss the table tennis deep down in the caves! Thank you Amanda, Satya and Craig!

Amazing house and responsive hosts

I stayed here with a group of 8 friends for 6 days over New Year's. The house was just as described with fun details and background (used to house the king's mistress)! Very spacious, walking distance to shops/restaurants, and very responsive hosts. They were able to stock our fridge before arrival which was very convenient and helpful! Highly recommend!

Incroyable!!

We were a group of 6 women from the US who had the great fortune of finding this house. Everything about the house is magnificent - the setting, the gardens, the multiple options for enjoying the outdoors as a group, or spending alone time. The house is so spacious and just perfect for 6 people. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed several meals at both the kitchen table and the more formal dining room. The house is beautifully decorated, retaining much of its original style and charm. We enjoyed the relative quiet of the Cite Royale, but also the easy proximity to the Centre Ville. However, there was one major problem with the house, we didn't want to leave! We could have enjoyed spending 6 months in the Palais D'Or.

Simply perfect

I can't express how amazing this break was. We are a couple with a whippet (yes the property was probably too big for us!) But we absolutely loved our break. Satya is incredible, the house was spotless, as if no one had ever stayed before, everything worked and it was brilliantly stocked with every cooking utensil, equipment and cutlery etc you could ever need. The house is perfectly located and is obviously a loved home from home, not simply a business asset. Loches is a gorgeous little town with everything you need. The fact we didn't need to drive anywhere was a welcome bonus especially as we had driven from the UK (also the tiny walled city roads are ok when you get used to them but a bit nerve-wracking when you first arrive in a Range Rover!). The property is super secure and the views are incredible, the garden is perfect for a dog, he loved playing out there! We will always have amazing memories of this place and will definitely be coming back! Thankyou!

Beautiful place

This was an outstanding place in a great location. Loches is a beautiful city and it's in the fortified old part of town. Lots of history and close to all of the area attractions including wine tasting, castles and the Beauval ZooParc. The house was comfortable and very large.
