Diese moderne und attraktive Blockhütte liegt hoch am Black Mountain in Jackson, NH. Umgeben vom White Mountain National Forest. Es hat das Gefühl, im Yukon zu sein, aber nur wenige Minuten von der Zivilisation entfernt. Treten Sie abends aus und schalten Sie das Licht aus. In einer klaren Nacht können Sie die Sterne fast berühren. Am Ende der Auffahrt befinden Sie sich auf den National Forest Wanderwegen, die im Winter in präparierte XCountry Ski Trails umgewandelt werden. Diese und 50 weitere (150 km) werden vom Jackson X Country Touring Assoc betreut. 5 Minuten und Sie sind die Basis des Skigebiets Black Mtn DownHill. Nach einer Fahrt von 15 bis 20 Minuten erreichen Sie die Skigebiete Cranmore, Wildcat oder Attitash DownHill. Die Privatsphäre und die spektakuläre Aussicht tragen zu dieser großartigen Blockhütte bei. Der Innenraum ist hübsch eingerichtet, 3 Schlafzimmer und eine Granit-Küche, die komplett ausgestattet ist (kein Geschirrspüler). Kamin mit Holzofen im Gemeinschaftsraum neben dem Ess- und Wohnzimmer. Die untere Ebene enthält einen Aufenthalts- / Schlafraum (4) mit Flachbildschirm / DVD, großer Filmauswahl, Billardtisch, Spieltisch und Kicker. Den Berg hinunter und Sie sind in Jackson Village malerisch und unberührt und bieten einige erstklassige Restaurants und Tavernen. Und die Stadt North Conway ist 20 Minuten mit dem Auto steuerfrei einkaufen. Cabin ist 60 Meilen von der Küste von Maine und 125 Meilen von Boston entfernt.

Unbelievably peaceful cabin-house that is somehow 10 min away from civilization. Dead quiet, day and night, stars are gorgeous, and everyone should get to drink their coffee in front of a big window showing the sun coming up over the mountains. Rooms are big and comfy, variety of hard/soft beds, which was great. Fireplace-stove was fantastic on the chilly nights, and my dogs loved the challenge of the downhill driveway to fetch balls on. George was a consummate host who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Mission accomplished! I cant wait to get back!

A mountain paradise! A touch rustic but a perfect family friendly option for myself and three teenage boys. Dog friendly - a huge bonus! Just a short drive from Jackson, the river, and Pinkham Notch AMC Visitor Center. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful Cabin

My family and I enjoyed our short stay at the cabin. It was peaceful, clean and relaxing environment! George was very communicative especially helpful with guidance in the area and hosting. There are additional costs for the cabin to use linens and trash pickup. I appreciate he offered us the opportunity to take our own linens, towels and dispose of our trash to save on costs. I also had some transportation issues on my side getting there and George was flexible. Nice memories in New Hampshire thanks to the cozy cabin!

Another fabulous stay here

Our family has been coming here for years and we absolutely love it. Our youngest was 7 when we first came and now he is 22! Relax with a book, go for a hike, go for a run or xc ski on the nearby trails, fall asleep in the grass, cook up a good meal, enjoy each other’s company without tv or constant internet distractions. It’s cabin living as it should be. George could teach a masterclass on being the best owner for renters; he’s truly one of our favorite people ever.

A wonderful getaway to unplug and recharge

From the minute we booked, George was incredibly friendly and helpful, sending us directions, restaurant reccomendations, and helpful videos to help ensure our stay is as good as possible! He called me as soon as we arrived to welcome us and give us an opportunity in case we had any questions. This cabin was wonderfully secluded and I don't think I've EVER seen so many stars at night. The cabin was also so welcoming, and decorated like an outdoorsmens dream! I will say, as the description already says, you will need 4/all wheel drive for the driveway in the snow/mud season. Also be aware that many of Jackson's restaurants are closed in the beginning days of the week, but North Conway is a short drive to many restaurants and shopping! Overall it's a great place to unplug and reconnect with loved ones and the great outdoors!

This is the perfect small cabin in the woods! Up a dead end road where the forest trails (ski and hike) begin. For folks who like nature and a calming place. The owner was always available by text and most helpful. It is heated by woodstove 80%, has good cell phone reception, lots of dvds. Center of Jackson with good restaurants 6 min. away. We are planning to return.

The perfect quiet getaway.

The definition of serenity. A perfect full size cabin nestled in the woods on the side of a mountain that is as far away as you can be without having to go far away. Our family visited in February for a snow-cation and we weren’t disappointed at all. George, the owner, was very responsive and provided a wealth of recommendations for local amenities and activities. The cabin had all we needed. We even spent two days just in the cabin itself relaxing, reading by the fire, and playing board games. An escape from reality our family desperately needed. I am certain that we will make our way back to “ Thistle Rock!”

I live on the coast of Massachusetts but spend as much time as possible in Jackson. In the future I hope to retire to the mountains.I love the outdoors and all this area has to offer. I first came to Jackson as a boy to visit my uncle who owned the original home that was here. I would dream all winter of trout,hiking,exploring, and wild raspberries. I was fortunate enough to purchase the property years later. The original house burned down but out of the ashes came a new beginning. You can stay at cabin and immerse yourselves in the forest and not see a soul or head out to the village and beyond to civilization.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

If you like the sweet smell of balsams (Christmas Trees), the mountains/ outdoors,and privacy this is it. When I arrive in Jackson I have no need to leave town its all here. Sitting in the brook on a July afternoon is heaven. There is also an outdoor shower to die for and no need for a curtain. A good book in the afternoon with all the windows open, and a mountain breeze -u need nothing else.I designed this cabin to meet all of the needs that make this place special.

The mountains are the home also to many different species of wildlife. I believe I have seen most pass through my property-moose,deer,bobcat,coyote,bear,porcupine just to name a few. The variety of birds are too numerous to count. They fill the forest with beautiful music from dawn to dusk. Speaking of nightfall you can reach out and touch the stars.The rivers are stocked but native trout exist also. I am not a golfer but the 2 courses are challenging and open to the public.
