This was a last minute booking from New Year's Eve for three nights. I loved the apartment but a few hours in, disaster struck when the washing machine overflowed into the kitchen sink which overflowed through the kitchen cabinets, over the floor, under the island and into the living area. Although I was quick to start the clean up, I couldn't stop the water pouring out so it was a huge effort and not how I'd intended spending my NY's Eve evening. I contacted the host who didn't seem to appreciate what I was dealing with, took 24 hours to get a cleaner to the property and two days to get a plumber to fix the blocked drain. Meanwhile, I couldn't use the dishwasher, washing machine or kitchen sink. I was first offered GBP12.22 in compensation by Guest Ready - having had to request it - which was later increased to GBP55. An absolute insult for all of the work I did potentially saving that property and the one below from thousands of pounds of damage. The ongoing inconvenience factor was significant, including the time it took both at the apartment and following my departure. Vrbo came through with another CAD70 which was appreciated but as a host myself, I'd have offered at least one free night including the cost of taxes, etc. Some hosts just don't seem to care about their guests or their reputation. I therefore cannot recommend Guest Ready as a host. Avoid at all costs.
