La Francigena is a large, well-equipped farmhouse set on a 240-acre organic farm in Tuscany. Sleeping up to 15 people, it’s ideal for family gatherings or group holidays. The house is located just 50 minutes from Siena and 15 minutes from Pienza, with a café and trattoria in the nearby village (2 miles away).

The farmhouse is located near the historic Pilgrim’s Way, an ancient long-distance walking route that stretches from Canterbury in England to Rome, offering a peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

For those who like to cook, the farmhouse has everything needed for group meals, but if you prefer not to cook, Antonella and Vanessa can arrange a chef to prepare meals for you.

The Kitchen and Dining Areas: The enthusiastic cook will find all the tools they need at La Francigena, including a pizza oven. The farmhouse, which was once divided into four large apartments, has been thoughtfully reconfigured by the owners, Antonella and Vanessa. The result is a large, well-equipped main kitchen with a huge dining table, perfect for group meals. There are also four additional kitchen-diners, allowing guests to enjoy a more private experience or prepare meals on a smaller scale.
Whether you want to join everyone in the main kitchen or have a quiet meal in one of the smaller kitchenettes, La Francigena offers the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy. Antonella and Vanessa have also created a large BBQ area on a shaded terrace next to the house, as well as a wood-burning oven for outdoor cooking. A second BBQ and dining table are located in a gazebo by the pool, with plenty of tables and chairs around the property to enjoy meals in the shade or under the stars.

Location:

• 15 minutes to Pienza and its famous Renaissance architecture, plus local sheep’s milk cheese and fine wrought iron.

• Close to Bagno Vignoni's thermal springs (6 miles), Pienza (9 miles), Montepulciano (13 miles), Montalcino (17 miles), and Siena (36 miles).

• Day trips to Florence (95 miles) and Rome (115 miles) are possible with easy access by car.


• Gallina (2 miles) is the nearest village with an excellent trattoria.

• Nearest train stations: Chiusi-Chianciano Terme & Buonconvento (30 minutes by car).
