Hi Ken. Thanks for such a lovely review. I'm sorry you havn't had your deposit back. I okayed it on the day you left and according to the message trail it was sent four days ago. however, as a host I don't receive the deposit it stays with HomeAway. Maybe the delay is due to the current situation.

Watch out in deed. This is a family who I would advise you never to host. I always personally greet my guests and follow up with a text the next day to ask if everything is okay. My text went unanswered and the first I knew of their 'grievances' was a text saying that they had moved out and wanted me to refund the rest of their stay and a threat of legal action if I didn't comply with their demand. They had not followed my checkout instructions nor had they given me chance to deal with their grievances. I have a 5 bedroom semi detached house that I could have moved them to, had they given me the chance. I have never had any such comments made before of after, or indeed on any other sites. In fact I have been an Air B n B superhost for 10 years and have regular return guests. The family had come over from Germany on the ferry and the weather was atrocious. It had rained for a week before their arrival and continued to do so while they were here. The house in question is over a 100 years old, not a modern build, so I would concede after the torrential rain it may have felt a little damp but nothing putting the heating on wouldn't have cured. There was certainly no mold on the walls! They said they were going to another Vrbo house. I find this difficult to believe as they put all their food in the bin. A shame they didn't do the same with their daughter's dirty nappies. Under these circumstances I decided not to refund them as Vrbo guidelines were not followed.
