Saint-Épain: Ferienunterkünfte mit Pool

The accommodation is beautifully situated, quiet and with a view of the small town and the vineyards. The house is excellently equipped and furnished, we felt very comfortable. The spacious property with two outdoor terraces and a heated swimming pool is also a great place to spend time when you are not taking trips to the great sights in the area. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and are happy to help you choose places to visit. We had our own bikes with us and explored the castles and palaces in the area on day trips. The castles of Azay le Rideau, Chenonceaux and Chambord, the Abbaie Fontevraud, the Chinon castle and the cities of Saumur, Angers, Amboise, Blois and Tours are well worth seeing.

We found the Relais de Sonnay a perfect ‚base camp‘ for E-bike tours to the surrounding historical sites like the beautifully reconstructed Forteresse de Chinon, the chateaux of Azay-le-Rideau, Saumur, Montsoreau, d’Ussé or the Royal Abbey of Fontefraud. Farther sites like Chenonceau or Chambord can be done by car in a day. Frederic is a charming host and not short of any helpful hints and practical suggestions, e.g. on where to go to eat. After whatever undertakings during the day it feels good to come ‚home‘ to a well equipped, stylish retreat and end the day with a bottle of wine in the quiet garden. More than a nice place.

We spent a wonderful week at this lovely place. The cottage is very confortable, clean and perfectly maintained. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. We all especially enjoyed the Spa! After our bike tours or visits of the suberb chateaux it was a great pleasure to relax in the jacuzzi. When the weather was fine we also enjoyed the heated pool very much. Virginie and Hervé were perfect hosts and provided us with with excellent advice on places to visit. They were very discrete and made us feel very confortable. We loved this place! Thank you very much for your hospitality Hervé and Virginie! These holidays were just perfect! Vielen Dank!
