Das Explorer ist ein geräumiges Studio mit einem Queensize-Bett und einem tragbaren Einzelbett, einer gut ausgestatteten Küchenzeile und einem eigenen 3/4 Bad. Es ist komplett mit bequemen Möbeln, neuen Kleingeräten und einem elektrischen Kamin ausgestattet.

Eine oder alle Acanthus Suiten können für verschiedene Gruppengrößen gemietet werden!

Teil der Acanthus-Suiten, eines der ersten bedeutenden historischen Häuser von Friday Harbor. 1913 erbaut, war es ein Hochzeitsgeschenk für eine reiche Kaufmannstochter. Es wurde wunderschön restauriert. Das Hotel liegt in der historischen Innenstadt von Friday Harbor. Nur 3 Blocks vom Fähranleger und dem Hafen von Friday Harbor entfernt.

The Suite was very clean and spacious. Having a second room with lovely woodwork, table and chairs, a microwave and mini fridge was a real plus. It comes complete with an electric fireplace and two comfortable easy chairs for reading. The suite is within walking distance of the whole downtown area, and yet is very quiet. Being in old house, we could hear the footsteps, but not the voices, of guests in the room above ours.

Great place. Great location. Super easy to walk to everything in Friday Harbor. Super easy to drive to everywhere on the island. Could’ve been a bit better stocked. Coffee mugs to go with the coffee maker?!? Also, smelled like mothballs when we arrived. So, some candles or incense could’ve helped. But, first world problems. We aired it out and it was fine. Would stay here again.

It was such a charming place to stay. We loved that it was built so long ago with the beautiful wood furnishing. We especislly loved the picture of the kids and enjoyed thinking about what life was like for them back then. We loved our stay!

That being said, the remodel work is amazing with lots of care being taken to keep the feel of this home. Secondly, the place was immaculately clean. Also, the mattress was just right! Easy to find in the dark coming off the ferry; a short walk into town. A wonderful jumping off place for SJI, but also for the other islands if you want to check them out. One note: the kitchenette doesn't have a stove/burner, just a microwave, so if you plan on cooking The Explorer might not be for you.

The place was perfectly located for ease in walking downtown where food, beverages and shopping awaits! The manager was easy to chat with, as needed. I think the Pandemic cleaning is overstated.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is in a great location. You are literally 1 min from town. We enjoyed our stay overall. However we originally booked a room with a separate bedroom away from the living room. We have a young son that goes to bed early. Our original unit needed maintenance, and we were moved to a larger unit, but it didn’t have a separate room. It defeated the purpose of my original booking. The space’s heater takes a long time to warm up the room. Although it did eventually.San Juan accommodations are painfully expensive for what you get out of it. Overall, we enjoyed our weekend in San Juan!
