Overall our stay was great and I would give this a 5* except for a few things:We were contacted by the host the day of arrival but were not informed the address given would not be able to be found via GPS and there was no cell service on this road. So in the dark and pouring rain, we were trying to find a way to text the host to find this "rural street" He had plenty of time to offer the name of the road and these specific directions would have made the arrival less stressful. Overall the cabin was charming and we loved the nice touches of decor and fully stocked kitchen. There definately needs to be added notes for the details of a stay here for example, added details to operating the damper on the fireplace would have been helpful and more details like where the outdoor trash cans are located to be able to follow the check out procedures easily. It's important to note as cute as this cabin is with its indoor vibe and outdoor spaces, you are RIGHT on CA4 which has lots of noisy traffic starting at 6am evident from inside the house. It's a beautiful area, but we found the evident traffic noise interrupting our peaceful stay.

We had a great time at the cabin, I would say mostly outside .We enjoyed the fire pit every night, we were lucky - the weather was very nice. It was a thoughtful thing to hang lights above the fire pit. And we noticed that walking path to and from fire pit was clean - there were small white rocks on the ground, which made it very clean. In the mornings we had our coffee outside too. Lots of firewood to warm up the cabin and for the fire pit. The cabin was very clean, has comfortable furnishings. The only thing we had to change is to bring one of the end tables into the bathroom - we needed more space for our stuff. Great pans for frying, thank you! Usually you find very cheap cooking ware in renting places. We appreciated that.

Cute property

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Its apparent that either owners or property manager have children because they thought to include a basket of toys, toddler potty, & kids games. I really wish theynhad included in the listing that the fireplace was the only heat source. If younhave small babies who.have to sleep.in a crib or the pack n play id wait to.stay here until warmer weather.Theres also a mall flock of chickens who came through every morning.

Though we had what we needed for this stay i need to leave a disappointing review. The supplies was very low, we ended up needing to ration our toilet paper, laundry detergent, add water to hand soap and dish soap. Because there is no dishwasher, we hand washed all dishes, which was fine with us though many "cleaned" dishes put away in the cupboard were very dirty upon picking them for use. Many dishes needed to be rewashed. The worst was the findings of mouse droppings in our beds, towels and pans that were stored below the stoves. There were no extra linnens or towels so everything had to be washed. I reached out several times to our local host and the property management company Evolve Team. Apparently the email i was supplied with as a contact had my messages go to spam and were not viewed until i texted. I called, emailed over several days, and then on our last day, we stayed 4 days, i finally was able to speak to a live person. The property owner contacted me which we appreciated. Ultimately we feel we deserve at least a partial refund which the management team is denying. We feel that their portion of the rental commission should be given back to us since there was no management during our stay. Ontop of this all, I came home with the flu from this trip.

Misrepresentation of listing and lack of customer service to help with concerns!

This rental was misrepresented in its listing. There is no heating in this unit. You are only getting heat from the wood burning fireplace! The fireplace only heats up the living room and so the bedrooms are ice cold! Thankfully my daughters brought their own blankets but it was still ice cold at bedtime and in the morning. When checking in, we were greeted with the book stating that there was no heating other than the fireplace, BUT they don’t provide firewood! We had to go out and buy firewood for the 4 nights we stayed! We were supposed to stay for seven but I couldn’t do it any more. Thankfully I had family that we were able to crash with to be warm! When contacting VRBO to try to get assistance and contact host, I didn’t hear back from host until I talked with VRBO again and told them that I hadn’t heard back from the host, then I finally got an email from them. When I looked at the listing, the only thing that was stated was that there was no AC, not that there was no heater! If you look at the pictures, you can see wall units which are heaters so I just assumed that those were the heating source. But we were not able to touch them… We left 3days early and I still haven’t heard from the host or VRBO about any of this. In regards to the cleanliness, the unit itself feels like it is halfway done with renovations. The fireplace seemed to have let some ash fly throughout the house, as the white sheets and blankets all had small little black pieces on it.

As noted in the listing, heating is provided by the fireplace. The house was cleaned thoroughly after use, with fresh sheets provided. Ashes on the sheets suggest the fireplace was used, and blankets are available in the hallway closet, with all beds featuring down comforters.-Ample firewood was provided inside the house, in the shed, and on the side. Our guest contact information is posted at the entrance and in the binder, but no contact was made during your stay. Evolve also confirmed no communication occurred until after your departure. Many issues could have been addressed with direct communication.-We truly apologize for any inconvenience, and we regret that these concerns were not raised sooner, as we would have been happy to assist you during your stay.We remain committed to providing exceptional experiences for all our guests and take great pride in the positive feedback we consistently receive.
