Prefect tiny home conveniently located close to Downtown

My daughter and I were in town for a concert and hotel prices in the city were well over our budget. This cute little home provided everything we needed for our short stay. It’s brand new and was fully furnished with anything and everything you could think of. We felt safe when coming and going during the late evening hours with the motion censored lights outside. The property owner is amazing and very communicative! We felt welcomed with open arms! I would highly recommend this property!

After this trip and a previous trip at a homeowner rental, my wife will only stay at hotels due to the inconsistent cleanliness of homeowner rentals.** Good **This unit was new and is detached, although there are some areas that are showing some damage already (walls and cleaning supplies closet), and some things haven't be setup yet like the mirror on the floor in the bedroom.Also, the manager of the property was communicative and responded quickly.** Bad **Firstly, we noticed that the chairs in the living room had dust and dirt all over them. It seems like the covers hadn't been cleaned for a long time. As a result, we didn't try sitting in the living room due to the dirty conditions.Also, no bath soap was provided. I checked the listing, and it mentioned that a bar of soap should be provided. On our first night, I called the manager to see if this was a miss, and she suggested washing with the trial-size shampoo that was provided. She also mentioned that the listing would be updated, but that did nothing to help us, so we ended up going out to buy body wash the following day. Bring your own body wash!I reported that the fan in the bathroom wasn't working, and this wasn't acknowledged as a real issue. I ended up opening the windows to air out the bathroom.As mentioned by others, there were various food in the fridge from past guests.The towels and pillows provided were poor quality and a random assortment.Lastly, there should be blinds for the bathroom.

Thank you for your review. Several of the concerns raised do not accurately reflect the stay. Our listing clearly states that only starter toiletries (travel-size shampoo/conditioner) are provided. While bar soap was noted, we advised it was temporarily unavailable. Calling close to midnight and continuing to email past 1:00 AM over body wash is not considered an emergency, and this could have easily been addressed the following day. You were also asked prior to arrival to text the manager directly for time-sensitive matters, as platform messages do not always generate immediate notifications. This was not followed, which contributed to the communication issues mentioned. The unit is professionally cleaned before each stay. The photos shared showed minor dust likely from airflow, not a lack of cleaning. Items left in the fridge are intentional and provided as a courtesy (such as condiments and fresh items), and expired food is not kept. The mirror referenced is intentionally a floor-length mirror and is designed to be used as such; it is not meant to be wall-mounted. The bathroom fan was intentionally disconnected due to repeated noise complaints from previous guests. This was communicated to you when you messaged yet again and yet you say it wasn’t acknowledged as an issue. The bathroom includes a privacy window for both ventilation and privacy, so blinds are not necessary. The supply closet referenced is clearly marked and guests are asked not to open it as it is not part of the guest space, as it contains cleaning supplies and laundry equipment for housekeeping and longer stays. Overall, the concerns raised appear to stem from expectations more aligned with a hotel rather than a private self contained Airbnb. We are in agreement that these guests are more fit for hotels. We would not host this guest again. Our space is best suited for guests who appreciate the privacy, exclusivity, and home-like experience of a private, self-contained Airbnb rather than hotel-style accommodations.

Check in was great. Gave us great info & photos to show how to get the key. Kitchen was good. Well equipped. Items were left in fridge & freezer. We didn’t eat in. Was not impressed with the fixtures in bathroom. Towel racks falling off. Towels were white & stained. Should be replaced. Pillows in bedroom should be replaced. Long strands of black hair were in the bed & on floor. Not impressed. It was suppose to be clean. Futon in living room should be replaced as the faux leather is falling off & all on the ground. Overall the place was nice & air was great.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that check-in was smooth, the kitchen was well equipped, and you found the space overall nice and comfortable. We were disappointed to receive only a 3-star review—especially as we accommodated an early morning check-in the night before your reservation at a reduced rate, as a courtesy. To clarify: only one towel rack was loose, and had we been informed, we would’ve fixed it right away. The same goes for the towels—if any appeared stained, we would’ve gladly replaced them. Cleanliness is very important to us, and if anything was missed, we wish it had been flagged so we could address it promptly. The pillows receive regular compliments from guests, and we personally find them in good condition. The futon has a cover due to some wear on the faux leather, but it remains clean and functional. While we appreciate the positives mentioned, it’s disheartening to receive a low 3 star rating based on issues that were not communicated to us during your stay—many of which could have been easily and quickly resolved. We want to gently emphasize that reviews should reflect the full experience, not serve as a list of fixable items that were never reported. We’re always happy to help when given the chance. Posting them in a review—rather than giving us a chance to help—doesn’t reflect the full effort we put into guest satisfaction. Nor does it show appreciation for the courtesies that were provided.

While the property is overall clean and as advertised, it cannot sleep more than 2 people. The king bed is alright, but the futon is falling apart, and is not suited for sleeping. When contacted, the host became defensive, arguing that the futon is new, and refused to provide an additional mattress/anything else to make it more comfortable ("we are not a hotel"). Keep in mind that this is a lane way house, with the owner living in the main property. The unit has two windows that do not have blinds, so the owner can look into the rental unit from their second floor (no privacy). The owner also scolded me for asking a neighbor for some salt, and implored me not to talk to any of her neighbours. Said neighbor was a really sweet lady, by the way. I wish she was the owner.In any case, the owner treats you like a criminal before proven innocent, and is very uptight. If you do end up braving this property, look out for the delightful rule book (12 pages, including recycling instructions and fines for violations) and the Vrbo rating ruberic on the door. We are disappointed by this review as it does not accurately reflect the listing or the stay. Our listing clearly states the futon is best suited for children or occasional use, with a king bed as the primary sleeping arrangement. The futon is less than a year old and in good condition. At 9:00 p.m., the guest reported it was uncomfortable for his 9 year old and demanded a mattress. We offered to order a foam topper. The guest’s privacy claim is incorrect. The windows are high clerestory windows (~14 ft above floor level) designed only for natural light and do not allow views into the unit. The guest approached multiple neighbours during their stay, including a 14-year-old minor, which was not appropriate for a residential setting. They left that part out of their review, conveniently. Our welcome guide explains appliance use and Vancouver’s mandatory waste-sorting rules. These are city requirements, not optional house rules. Several house guidelines were not followed, including contacting neighbours and not fully reporting maintenance issues in a timely manner during the stay. After checkout, we discovered a clogged toilet requiring a plumber. It had not been fully communicated before departure. Although this resulted in an additional cost, we chose not to pass this on to the guest. We strive to provide accurate listings, clear communication, and a well-managed guest experience. Thanks but no thanks to this guest. VrBo hosts beware of this nightmare guest.

This was such a cute house! Everything was new and clean. Communication was awesome. The price was perfect for what we got. We came into town really late and the host made sure to send all directions so we knew where to go. There’s an amazing bakery a few blocks away. We had a great time and would come back again.
