Welcome to my very Parisian style duplex, on the top floor of a futuristic building!
From the terrace and the 40m2 garden, you will contemplate the Eiffel Tower, the Sacré Coeur church, the Montparnasse Tower, La Défense, the new Tribunal de Grande Instance by Renzo Piano.
Terrace and garden face South-West: you will enjoy the sun all day long, from your breakfast in front of the Eiffel Tower, until your aperitif in front of the sunset over the La Défense business district.
As soon as the sun sets, the Eiffel Tower and the Sacré Coeur light up, the Eiffel Tower sparkles for 5 minutes every hour, and you can see its lighthouse rotating constantly (like marine lighthouses).
The apartment is designed like a small house with the living-dining room and kitchen on the first level, and the 3 bedrooms upstairs.
Each bedroom has a large closet with hanging space. The bedroom opening onto the terrace also has a small office space with a secretary.
A bathroom is upstairs, a shower room is on the first level, each having a toilet.
All linen is provided: duvet covers, fitted sheets, mattress pads, earcases, pillow protectors, large towels, small towels, bath mats.
I love interior architecture and design, and I choose each of my pieces of furniture carefully. Some of my furniture is family furniture: a mahogany secretary from my paternal grandmother, Louis XV style armchairs from my grandparents; and you will eat on the solid oak table (with all-wood hinges and a very ingenious extension system) made by the hands of my great-grandfather 95 years ago.
The bedroom floor has a very Parisian character with moldings on the walls in the Hausmanian building style.
The photos of Paris, which are in the living room and upstairs, are my own photos.
The district, called "the Docks of Saint Ouen district" is an eco-district, with rainwater recovery, low-consumption buildings. It is built around a wooded park, the Grand Parc des Docks which is at the foot of the building. The park has water points for swans, herons and ducks, numerous games for children, a carousel, a small castle, shared gardens, an educational greenhouse.
At the foot of the building, you will find:
- Communale, the largest "food court" in the region, with 8 restaurants of different nationalities, 5 bars, café, a market with all local shops, a florist, etc. This food court was created in a long building in which trains were built.
- restaurants and cafes: Gemini (Italian), Au Bureau (brasserie, pub), Yaya (Greek), Edogawa (Japanese), Dar Djerba (Tunisian), Bloom Café
- grocery stores: Renée (organic grocery store and produce), Biocoop (organic grocery store and produce), Portuguese grocery store
- bakeries: l’Arbre à pains, Clem & Gwen (organic)
- convenience stores and supermarkets: Carrefour Market (open until 10 p.m.), Intermarché
- hairdressers and barbers
- a large pharmacy / parapharmacy
The building is between the Olympic Village (4 minutes by car / 15 minutes on foot) and Paris.
Department stores and the center of Paris are 15-20 minutes away with the new line 14 and line 13, which are an 8-minute walk from the residence.
It is also possible to take the bus which is at the foot of the building to go to the center of Paris (Opéra, Le Louvre, Chatelet/la Seine, etc.) and to the department stores; it's longer than the metro, but it will get you exploring.
The famous Puces de Saint Ouen (or Marchés aux Puces de Saint Ouen) are 5 minutes by car / 20 minutes on foot, towards Sacré Coeur.
If you want to stay calm in the apartment, you will find books and board games there. You can also relax on the sun lounger in the shade of the palm tree.
