Luxury in Kaipara Harbour Tinopai

Relax and unwind in our luxury modern double glazed 3 bedroom home or enjoy the covered outside dinning and music area with peek views of the harbour. Fully functional kitchen. The fourth bedroom is a sleep out. Situated on a quiet cul-de-sac and a few minutes walk to the beach or 5 minute drive to boat ramp and Tinopai wharf. Bring you kayak as the fishing is excellent 50m off the beach or explore the Kaipara harbour with you boat from the central location of Tinopai.

The space
The coffee expresso machine incorporates a grinder so bring your favour coffee beans. If required please refer to the information on how to use the machine. There is a good mobile signal from the property. Please don't book our property if you are a smoker or want to bring pets. Available for your use is a double and single fishing kayaks, paddles and adult life jackets. If you require fishing rods for fishing then there will be an extra one off charge. Bring your own bait. The fishing is great just off the beach or bring your boat and explore the entire historic Kaipara harbour. There is a boat wash down area on the property and two close by boat ramps, the closest can only be used at high tide. The main ramp is a 4 min drive.

Other things to note
Tinopai doesn't have a water reticulation system so we have a rain water tank so please be conservative with water. As our septic tank is a treatment system, please only use eco cleaning products which we provide. Also to keep our worm farm happy (treatment system) don't put citrus peelings etc down the sink incinerator. All other organic material is ok.

Somethings to note, last grocery and petrol stop is in Paparoa (30 mins from Tinopai) prior to reaching us however we suggest for better deals you shop at Wellsford, Kaiwaka or Maungaturoto (40 min) supermarkets. Dargaville is a 50 minute drive. A must visit is the excellent Kauri Museum at Matakohi (20min).

Plenty of rock oysters at low tide and also smallish sea cockles.

Great and well set out property

We came to Tinopai to go fishing and all the amenities we need were there including plenty of parking, boat wash area and filleting station. The house was also beautifully appointed with great rooms, kitchen and a great elevated undercover outdoor area.

Fantastic Stay

Ralph is a great host and we very much enjoyed our stay at his bach in Tinopai. The house is fully equipped and everything is in great shape. We can definitely recommend the place and will be back for sure the next time we are in Tinopai. Thanks for all!

The house is very lovely and comfortably slept 8 of us for our holiday. Host was very good with communication for any of our needs (quick replies ect) The location is nice, not much to do around but still fun for a weekend. Closest supermarket was about 40 minutes drive so we recommend fully stocking on food. We did have to go out and buy a few things such as toilet paper as not enough was provided, but there is a gas station about 20 minutes out so not too bad.We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend the place for a quiet getaway with friends or family.Thank you to the hosts :)

awesome place

we had a fantastic extended family easter break in a location that we underestimated. great host, pity weather wasn't conducive to fishing. only things missing from listing were sml drinks fridge and outside bbq, so had to make minor adaptation but otherwise thoroughly enjoyed it and keen to return.

Thanks Dean for your review. The beer fridge is down in the garage, sorry I should have returned it upstairs. As mention to you we removed the BBQ as it was consistently left in a mess by guests. If we continue hosting then we'll reconsider buying another BBQ.

The Gem of the Kaipara

Easy assess. The kitchen was top end scale. The deck has the best views. All beds, extremely comfortable. Music system, fabulous. Easy communication with the host. Was a pleasure to stay, thank you.

It didn't say anything about prices per person

It is a very nice place until we had no water and then it was Kaos no shower no toilet ha to organize campground forthe above and start moving stuff out to go to another kitchen

My apologies about the pump stopped working but something I had no control of. Anyway I dropped what I was doing, grab lots of plumbing gear and a spare pump, drove 1hr 30m, found out there was no power to the pump, ran a power lead and water was restored before lunchtime. A very good outcome considering the house is in Tinopai and there are no local electricians. You also failed to say you booked our property for two people and invited a whole house lot of guest. Do you think it's a pretty weak excuse to say you didn't know any better? I will say the house was left tidy and clean so thank you for this.
