Take advantage of the vast living space to comfortably enjoy the view while uncorking some wine or prepping a delicious meal in the fully kitted kitchen with your friends and family. Once you’ve settled in you can light a fire in the fire pit just off the deck or take a walk and find the properties pond or the untouched corners of the land. It’s a great getaway for kids to spend some much needed time outdoors while the adults can unwind.

Waitpinga House was recently built where the original farmhouse once stood. Designed to maximise the panorama of Encounter Bay in as much of the home as possible. The full home can be rented for large guests or just the 4 (of the 8) bedrooms which face the ocean view.

The living room is purpose built to accommodate a few families or a group of friends, it houses a fully kitted kitchen with plenty of prep space leading onto a 12 seater table for big meals. You can cook over the fire out the front using the wood from the property that’s set aside for you or that you’ve gathered yourselves and there’s a back up BBQ right behind if over the fire cooking is a bit too tricky.

The house also features two other king bed rooms towards the back and two rooms with a pair of single beds in each, best suited for kids. There are 6 bathrooms total when the full house is in use.

Please make sure to book the for the correct amount of guests to make sure all necessary rooms are unlocked.

The property also features the Fleurieu Peninsula’s best shower! Located right at the front of the building, this fully hot water shower is ideal to rinse off after a day at the beach or to jump into first thing in the morning! You can take in the views while rinsing off.

The property is mostly self sustainable, with solar panels and batteries on the roof and water supplied by rainwater catchment, with back up from town mains if required.

You can also charge up Tesla vehicles (models X and S) should you need!

The property can be accessed remotely by a key safe at the back door.

Access to bedrooms will be allocated based on total guest numbers, we are happy to accomodate the full amount of guest that can be housed at the property but for reasons of cleaning and laundry we need to ensure that the number of bedrooms used is correct against the number of guests listed. Please just advise us how many people you have and how many will be using the double or single beds so we can ensure the price is matched accordingly.

The property is situated an hour and a half drive from Adelaide, you can take advantage of travelling through the world class Mclaren Vale wine region on the way to your stay to pick up some great vino and local produce for your time at the Waitpinga House.

The property is a 5 minute drive from Victor Harbor town, a charming township with all the amenities you need. Such as shopping centres, groceries, local food markets, bottle shops, cafes, pubs and a handful of take away stores for the evenings in that might be easier with a few pizzas.

You can also take advantage of the range of activities to take on in Victor such as whale watching, some of SA’s best surfing and fishing beaches or jumping on the Cockle Train with the kids down the coast!

We are unable to accept reservations for stag or hen parties, or sporting trips. The house is not designed to accommodate groups of above 16. If you intend to have guests come during your trip, that is permissible but they should not be aiming to stay the night there. We are happy to accommodate reasonable requests for the use of the space but please be as honest and transparent about the intention for your stay so we can ensure a safe stay for you all. There is an onsite caretaker. who lives in a separate building behind the main house.

Please be aware of snakes in, particularly in the hotter months. If venturing out in the scrubs on the properties west side then wear sturdy shoes with long durable pants.

Important note: A security bond will be required for your stay. The bond will be refunded in full within 7 days of checkout, subject to the property being left in good condition.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a quiet building, perfect to relax and enjoy, so please no loud noise & no parties. Quiet Hours are between: 11PM and 8AM. We are in constant contact with the surrounding neighbours who will let us know if there is any disturbances.

NO SMOKING: Strictly NO smoking inside, on the balcony or in any outside areas.

PENALTIES: If any damage is caused, smoking takes place or there is evidence of a party there will be a $250 penalty plus we will request the repair costs plus the extra cleaning costs. If a guest coming in needs to be moved to another property due to the damage or smell of smoke still being present, we will also request the cost of that nights stay. Please respect these rules.
