Fantastic house

Beautiful home, very well decorated and with all the necessities. We enjoyed the hot tub and the electric fireplace. Just a couple of minutes outside Depoe Bay.

Check in went very smoothly. We arrived late at night and were so thankful everything worked to get into the house like it was supposed to. Everything was clean and kitchen had plenty of items to use for cooking.

Great location - quiet, but close to town

We loved our stay here, beautiful and clean, and the hot tub was a plus! Well stocked, except bring hand soap. I think having no ice and one of the upstairs beds being super hard were the only downfalls, still earned 5 stars though!

Crab weekend!

Wonderful house with open plan and close to downtown and Newport. My friends and had a wonderful get away. Everything was perfect except pool table was junior size and we were hoping for some serious games -:)

Highly Recommend!

We came to go fishing on a Charter for two days. There were 8 of us. This was a great place for all of us to come back to rest and sleep. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for everyone! The hot tub was a nice bonus!

Family Weekend

Great newer home with a peek of the ocean. Everything was clean and well stocked with kitchen amenities. We made chowders and salad one night and the crockpot there was HUGE. Easy to walk into town if you’re up for it (uphill a bit to get back to the house). Grandkids loved the downstairs game room and ping pong table. The beds were a little firm but some prefer it that way.

Wonderful Stay

What a wonderful stay at Jim’s Folly. The house was so clean and check in and check out were so easy. My kiddo enjoyed all the games….especially ping pong. It was so nice to come home from the cool ocean breeze and sit with the fire on. This house is situated close to everything and we enjoyed walking to town—stopping at the benches and views along the way.

My husband took several of his employees on a chartered fishing trip and stayed in this home. He came back saying it was a perfect house for what they needed. He will definitely go back and now wants to take our family there!

Wonderful stay during a not-so-wonderful weather storm

Well...this was what I assume will be known as the coastal freeze, but this winter 2024 storm reared its head all the way to the Oregon. We had a wonderful trip and the weather is, we all know, beyond anyone's control. That said, the property makes me want to not leave, I want to return and have a longer stay. This is a beautiful new development once you enter Depoe Bay (northern entrance).

family trip

House had ample space for everyone and a great kitchen with everything we needed to cook for our large family group and a large hot tub in a private fenced area. So grateful for the property being pet friendly and kid friendly, also having so many bathrooms was nice as well. Only downsides of the stay was one of the mattresses in an upstairs bedroom was extremely old and uncomfortably lumpy, looked to be from the 80s or 90s (old floral print, label peeling away from mattress, etc) when we pulled back the sheets to put in the wash after our stay. Also there was a lot of construction in the area on surrounding houses and our next door neighbors stayed up til 4am smoking and drinking outside their house even though it was a midweek stay. We expected a little bit quieter of a stay based on the photos and location. The house itself was great for our needs, and we would consider staying again if construction was finished in the area. We are a three generation family who gathered for a 3 day weekend on the coast. The house was new--and there was lots of ongoing construction of other new houses on the block. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped, large, and had nice major appliances. But no coffee was provided for our first day's stay, there was only one oven mitt and no hot pads, there were only two dish cloths and one sponge for cleanup. There was no hand soap in the kitchen, and only a single small bar of soap in three of the four bedrooms (the other had two bars). Company policy (we asked) is for only one bath towel per guest. There was an arcade machine and a ping pong table on the lower floor, but there were no other games or toys for children except a single 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Our biggest complaint, however, was the beds. The bunk bed mattresses were reasonable, but the rest of the beds were very hard, lumpy, and uncomfortable. I like a firm mattress, but these were beyond firm. All the adults in our party complained about the beds, and slept poorly because of them. I'm surprised that the property managers, a large corporation, haven't prioritized their beds more. I would have also appreciated having a luggage stand for each bedroom or else a dresser, having hooks on the bedroom doors for towels or bathrobes, and having a drying rack in the laundry room for swim suits and towels.We had a view of the ocean from the living room, and enjoyed the gas fireplace the first night.
