No.63 - Elevated Onetangi Retreat with Pool
Summary:
Set high on the Onetangi hillside with wide views across the coastline, No.63 is a completely rebuilt beach-style home offering privacy, space, and calm. Expansive decks, a 13 metre swimming pool, and light-filled contemporary interiors create an easy setting for relaxed island stays, surrounded by gardens, native plantings, and open sky.
The Space:
No.63 has been carefully redesigned to make the most of its elevated position and uninterrupted outlook. The main living areas sit on the ground level and open through multiple large sliders to a wide, two-level deck that looks across the pool and out to the coastline below. Views stretch across the northern and western headlands, creating a natural rhythm to the day, from quiet mornings with coffee by the windows to long afternoons outdoors and gentle evenings watching the light move across the water.
Inside, the ground floor brings together a generous living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a dining area that flows naturally outside. Built-in window seats create sunny corners to read, rest, or simply take in the view. The layout is open and sociable while still allowing space to step away and unwind.
There is one bedroom and bathroom on the main level. Upstairs, the master bedroom with ensuite opens to a private deck with far-reaching coastal views. The second upstairs bedroom has three single beds and sits alongside a light-filled living area that also opens to the deck, creating a flexible family space.
A separate studio is connected by a bridge walkway and includes a queen bed, and a set of bunk beds, and its own bathroom. A dedicated television area with beanbags and foosball table makes this an ideal zone for kids or teenagers wanting their own space. The grounds extend toward the western coastline with lawns, garden paths, and multiple places to sit and enjoy the setting.
No.63 is designed to feel comfortable year round, with natural materials, open interiors, and outdoor living at the centre of the experience.
Bed Configuration
Bedroom 1: King bed
Bedroom 2: Queen bed
Bedroom 3: Three single beds
Studio: Queen bed and one single bed
Guest Access:
Guests have private access to the entire property, including the main house, upstairs bedrooms, studio, decks, pool, gardens, and surrounding grounds. On-site parking is available.
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee, subject to availability.
The Neighborhood:
No.63 sits above Onetangi, one of Waiheke’s longest and most loved beaches, known for its wide sweep of sand, gentle swimming, and relaxed dining scene. Onetangi Beach is a short drive away and offers space to walk, swim, and spend unhurried days by the water.
Nearby dining includes Three Seven Two for breakfast and coffee by the beach, Charlie Farley’s for casual meals throughout the day, and Ki Māha for refined coastal dining directly opposite the sand. Well-known vineyards are close by, including Tantalus Estate with its restaurant and brewery, Stonyridge for long vineyard lunches, Te Motu for seasonal dining in a rural setting, and Obsidian, known for relaxed tastings among the valley hills. Walking tracks and lookouts nearby make it easy to explore the area between beach time and meals.
Getting Around:
The closest bus stop is on Onetangi Road, with regular services running from Onetangi through major wineries, including Tantalus, Stonyridge, and The Heke Brewery, before continuing into Oneroa and on to the passenger ferry terminal. Taxis, rideshares, e-bikes, scooters, and rental cars are available across the island. The property has easy on-site parking.
Other Things to Note:
There is a barista style coffee machine plus a Nespresso pod coffee maker at the property.
There is floor fans for each bedroom including the sleep out. And also plug in heaters for each bedroom.
Please note the bath tub is unavailable to use, this is because the house runs on septic tanks like all homes on Waiheke. Letting all the water out of the bath in one continuous flow will jam up the septic leaving the whole house without water. For this reason we have decided to remove the pugs from the property.
The property is a private retreat. Gatherings, events, functions, or group activities are not permitted.
Minimum stays apply as follows: seven nights from mid December to mid January, three nights on all holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
The home uses rainwater tanks, so mindful water use is appreciated.
Discounts may be available for longer stays depending on seasonality.
Interaction with Guests:
This is a self-contained stay with privacy respected throughout. For any urgent property issues during your stay, please use the after-hours contact number provided. In the event of a medical emergency or any life-threatening situation, call 111 immediately.
