This historic cottage is a convenient place to stay in Rockaway Beach—it’s an easy walk to the shops and dining in town, and the beach is a two-block stroll away! You’ll be delighted with the updates to this 1925 cutie: new flooring and paint, a TV/fireplace combination in the living room, comfy furnishings and sweet décor will make you feel at home right away. With a futon sleeper in the living room, this is a terrific spot for a small family, but the single bedroom makes it perfect for a romantic getaway. You’ll enjoy a dedicated dining room and a compact but updated kitchen. If you want to take dinner outdoors, this home has you covered: there’s a barbecue, chairs and a fire-pit in the fenced backyard. Rockaway Beach has miles of level shoreline to explore, with fishing on Lake Lytle and crabbing from the jetty. You’ll also want to take a steam train line down the shore to Garibaldi on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad and investigate the shops in both towns. Very close to the beach (1 block) and easy walk to the shops and restaurants in "town". Small fenced backyard. No oven. The home is not level, especially in the kitchen. Lots of windows and a partial view of the sun set. Worked out well for our beach weekend with the dog.

This place has a few positives and those are its proximity to the beach and a really lovely backyard. The rest was not as advertised. The entire house is tilted severely and I can only imagine there are severe issues with the foundation. The bedroom is very small and the bed tilts back at an extremely uncomfortable angle. The bathroom ceiling slants down by the sink and you cannot stand up straight if you are taller than 5’4. You will hit your head, otherwise. The furnishings are bare. The kitchen is stocked well with plates, utensils, etc. but there is no oven. If you plan to spend your time elsewhere and simply sleep here, you will be fine. But, it is not worth the cost by any means.

Perfect place and price point for our 2 night stay with only a short walking distance to everything. The indoor fire and outdoor fire pit and grill really made it super cozy and usable. Already excited to go back!

The property met our expectations given price and location. The kitchen (although small) had very good equipment, which is important to us (sharp knives, cooking pans, etc.) The house was clean, the yard was as-billed, the bed was comfortable.

Enjoyed the location to beach, restaurants and salty Ukulete players I. Your city hall. They were very hospitable. The washer and dryer were life savers. Bed was comfy and this time of year, quiet. Grumpy for breakfast and ElTrio Loco best Mexican food.

The house is in a great location for walking to the beach. This is the second time we stayed in this house and each time the TV did not work most of the time. It happened last year and also this time. There’s a problem with the LAN connection No dishwasher. There was a sign saying out of service The mattress on the pull out couch was still in plastic.

We’ve flagged the repeated TV/LAN problem with our maintenance team and will have a technician test the connection, set-top boxes, and any network equipment to prevent future outages. The dishwasher is due to be replaced this month as well. Housekeeping was informed of their error in forgetting to remove the plastic from the new mattress, I'm sorry for their oversight on this matter. The home was cozy. The dishwasher was out of service, so washed dishes by hand. The fencehad several loose boards, and 1 slat was off. I would have fixed it, but there weren't any tools. It was rainy and muddy and they had a swiffer, but no mop sheets. It is a VERY noisy street. Value for the money? Yes!

Cute for a couple with a dog

Such a perfect little place for a couple or just a few friends with a dog, the fenced back yard it really perfect for an evening outside and your dog. It's definitely not a place for large people, the house is small and has very low ceilings and a tiny shower and queen bed but located so perfectly in downtown Rockaway.

Charming little getaway!

My wife and I loved this little property. Being a bit on the smaller side didn’t bother us at all, given a great layout and being well-stocked. The outside area worked well for us. The instapot was a surprise, we may have planned for that appliance had we known!

“We had a wonderful stay at this house in Rockaway Beach to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfect for our family. The backyard was a real highlight, especially for our dogs who loved having space to roam, and we enjoyed relaxing by the campfire in the evenings. Cabin in Rockaway

Overall we had a nice stay. The location is great. We did have a couple issues in the beginning but it was taken care of right away by maintenance. The TV was not hooked up to the internet and the cord had to be fixed. There were no sheets or blankets for the futon but maintenance took care of it right away after one phone call. This was really appreciated. We would rent it again

We were very happy with the person that we dealt with as we had problems checking in-Ie. room hadn’t been cleaned and while we were out our food was thrown out.As I said though the contact at Meredith was extremely helpful and apologetic.Nice property and stay otherwise.
