I’m genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations, though I must clarify that many of the issues mentioned in your review don’t reflect the condition of the property during or prior to your stay. All the items, including the pans, utensils, and beds, were recently purchased and inspected before your arrival. The screens were intact and secure when the property was cleaned, and no prior or recent guests reported issues with them. The oven is cleaned regularly, and we’ve never had a situation involving smoke or health concerns—especially anything as severe as described. As for the pool table, cues and chalk were available and in place at the start of your stay, and we always do our best to keep all equipment in good condition. Regarding the listing, the photos accurately represent the space, including the bedrooms and bathrooms, and we’re always happy to provide clarification or extra images upon request. While I understand that every guest experience is unique, I do take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-equipped space for every stay. We’ve also removed the plastic from the mattresses, added lighting for reading, and made changes to improve comfort overall. We always strive to make the cottage safe and welcoming for guests of all ages, and your comment about the entrance steps and dock access is appreciated—we’re actively reviewing options to enhance both areas. I do want to clarify that we clearly note in the listing that guests should bring their own blankets, and we remain available throughout the stay to assist with any issues like the TV or questions about amenities.
