Enjoy a cool, fully-air-conditioned respite in warmer weather, or a cosy break the cooler season. Stroll around the walking paths, refreshment in hand, and enjoy tranquil seating areas next to, or overlooking the dam, with an abundance of bird-and wildlife – Wallaby spotting guaranteed!

We're excited to share our amazing rural acreage retreat with you. The absolute beauty, calmness, stylishness and abundance of bird and wildlife is what drew us to this property, and we know you will enjoy it immensely too!

Make it a weekend break to remember with check-in as early as 12pm on Friday and as late as 2pm checkout on Sunday, if available, and by special request!

We apologise but the retreat is for ADULTS ONLY and we do NOT allow smoking anywhere on the property.

About the home -

"Moorina Retreat" offers a stylish, softly retro, nostalgic style, yet with modern convenience, and will have you instantly feeling comfortably at home. Here you can enjoy the peacefulness of nature and come back to relax after a day exploring the Moreton Bay Region and the Sunshine Coast.

Accommodation for up to 2 couples or 4 adults in 2 air-conditioned bedrooms with king size beds which each lead out onto a private west facing deck with elevated views into the trees and the abundant birdlife – the perfect morning coffee spot.

Relax in a supremely comfortable air-conditioned Lounge area and games room with pool table with various lounging and seating arrangements, an indoor bar and leading onto a private deck and the main home’s deck (with a folding screen for added privacy).

The entertainers deck offers a spectacular view with outdoor lounging, dining seating, gas barbeque, and a fabulous Kamado Joe BBQ, and overlooks the seasonally (September to May) heated saltwater pool and Bali-style day bed, all of which are available for you to enjoy.

We also have a larger open parking area should you have a caravan/trailer/boat in tow which is about 100m away from the apartment. If using this, then we’ll happily help cart luggage and supplies down the driveway with our electric buggy.

Internet access -
The property has Starlink (Tesla) satellite wi-fi throughout. Speeds vary but usually up to 250 mbps depending on the number of overhead satellites.

Guest access
We welcome weekend breaks, checking in on Thursday's or Friday's and because we know how annoying it is to check out early on a Sunday, we invite you check out at 12pm on Sunday or to request a later checkout of up to 2pm if it is available.

The apartment has its own access from the rear fenced courtyard, or via the expansive front deck - you have access to the entire apartment and all amenities on the property.

Other things to note
We will provide a hamper consisting of a few food staples such as eggs, pastries, bread, breakfast cereals, tea bags, coffee pods, milk and sugar to help you settle in on your first morning.

Things to note as we like to be fully transparent:

This 1,054 sq ft (98m2) large self-contained apartment is attached to the main house.

Our little Maltese poodles Custard, Cookie and Candy, are very friendly, well behaved, and live mostly indoors in our home. They wouldn't ordinarily interact with you unless you want to say hello to them. If you are uncomfortable with dogs, then please let us know ahead of your stay and we'll l make sure they don't bother you.

We are an acreage on the mountain/bush, so as is normal here in Queensland you may encounter the occasional sighting of our much-loved Carpet Python and the odd other snake - very rare though. All doors and windows have insect screens, and the home is extremely secure from any critters.
