Stayed here for work. Super easy. Had everything I needed to be productive. Hot water was hot; fridge and freezer were cold. Beds were just right.

The Jungle House was a great place to rest our heads at the end of the day. The beds are SO comfortable! The A/C is nice and cold, and there is a lot of room to spread out. The street parking wasn't bad. The stairs are steep, but I love seeing the original parts of an older home being featured.

Very nice upstairs apartment. Conveniently located to restaurants and downtown. We stayed on a very hot day and air conditioning worked well except in front bedroom that captured all the sunlight.

Has Potential, but Not Worth the PriceOverall, our stay was okay, but I was disappointed with the condition of the property for the price we paid. The place has potential, but it definitely needs some TLC, both inside and out.Fresh paint, minor repairs, and general maintenance would make a big difference. Some of the fans weren’t working, the stairs were quite steep, and the outdoor grounds needed considerable attention.While the property may have been cleaned, the overall lack of upkeep made it feel less clean and welcoming.I understand it’s an older property, and I certainly don’t expect perfection, but I do expect the condition to reflect the price. Unfortunately, at the current price and in its present condition, I would not choose to stay here again.With some attention and care, this property could be a much more enjoyable experience for future guests.

Passing Through

Charming, comfortable home. Great neighborhood to walk, lovely older homes, lots of spring flowering plants to see. Plenty of on street parking. Lots of restaurants nearby and easy to get to. Who knew Chillicothe was so quaint.

The apartment is the refurbished second floor of an older house. The place was clean and airy, with most details well thought out, the decor campy but fun. Appliances in the kitchen were new or nearly so. Bathtub/shower and sink looked almost new. The beds were very comfortable. There were easily operated heating/cooling devices. Communication with the host was easy.Despite the steep climb up the narrow old stairs, if it hadn't been for the following details we would have happily given the place five stars. The problems, especially for older people: a short flight of several narrow interior steps to one of the bedrooms has no rail. We think this is dangerous. Similarly, there are no grab bars to safely get in and out of a pretty deep tub-shower. Both of these problems could be rather easily fixed by the owner, and we hope they will be before there is an accident.

Clean

The apartment was the cleanest short term rental I've ever stayed in. Check in was easy. I didn't cook but the kitchen had everything you would need. But just basics. Plus plus coffee and coffee filters were there. And a few snacks. Bathroom had all the basics avaliable. Plenty of paper supplies. Easy walk to the downtown restaurants and shopping. The air conditioning is windrow units and there was only one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. I asked and quickly received one for the second bedroom. The house had no curb appeal and the porch and entry way with steps were not very clean. There is only street parking but there was always some available in close proximity. The houseplants get in the way a bit. There was a big plant in front of the only towel bar in the bathroom. You had to step into the plant to dry your hands. I moved the plant. There is no where to unload your clothes and no where to open your suitcase. No dresser and the closet is full of cleaning supplies. You have to open your suitcase on the floor and live out of it. Over all a good place to stay.

Home was clean upon arrival and well maintained. Close to town and drivable to fun activities such as Tecumseh Outdoor Theater, Hocking Hills or Serpent Mounds. Quick responses from host if anything is needed. Great for a quick getaway to southern Ohio!
