Had a fun week at VB. It was a fine little cabin to come back to after some long beach days.

Nice quiet location

The cottage was very comfortable to stay in and had most the amenities needed. It looks like the owner had made some recent renovations, one of them being the hardwood flooring. The varnish was still a little tacky and a room divider stuff to my wife's foot and pulled out. Television cable connection was not consistent.. The week that we were there was relatively chilly and there was not an adequate comforter for my son staying in the bunkhouse. There were no specific instruction on how to leave the place. Hope we did ok.

Attention to detail....

There were no smoke detectors nor a fire extinguisher in building - I installed smoke detectors and left them. Nor was there any fire wood or bikes, which are key when at VB. The ones we rented were expensive and in poor condition, chains fell off no air in tires.

Nice Relaxing Stay

This is a cottage with 3 bedrooms in the main building, and an external bunkie with a 4th bedroom. When we arrived, that 4th bedroom had not been cleaned, and seemed to be used as storage. But once we cleaned it and found bedding, it was the prized place to sleep.The only instructions the cottage came with was the code to access the front door key. The rest we figured out on our own, and the owner did reply promptly with any questions. And even checked in part way through the stay to make sure everything was going well.The cottage itself has a beautiful front sun room and back covered deck that were fantastic for relaxation and bird watching. I was there with my daughter, sister and mother, and it was loads of room for the 4 of us. There is a window air conditioner in the living room which did do a good job keeping the cottage cool - and we had three 30 degree plus days that it had to contend with! There is a huge TV however we never used it. The wifi was great and the 4 of us never had any connection issues.If i had any suggestions about the main cottage, it would be that the kitchen and bathroom really need some vents. We did set off the smoke detector a couple times while cooking dinner.Something that was there, but was not in the listing, was an outdoor shower, which we all enjoyed.We purchased scrabble and boggle and left them there as we feel those are cottage staples.We obviously loved our stay, because we all agreed we would rent this place again!
