The place is exactly as advertised. Cozy retreat, nothing fancy, and a great location for Mt. Dora. The only hiccup was the parking. It wasn't clear to me where the host wanted me to park. She wasn't very nice when clarifying. Unfortunately, the parking isn't next to the cottage but on the other side of the property. I do understand why--she doesn't want people to fall into the pool. My concern was where my car needed to be parked was too far away to hear if my car alarm went off.

Exactly as described! Perfect for a couple. Kitchen was complete enough to make a huge batch of baked Rigatoni. Bed was comfy loungers power reclined and the air was cold on hot days. The pool was cleaned daily and wonderful. Great parking. Private fenced back yard. Literally minutes from cute downtown Mt Dora. I will stay here the next time we visit my Dad.

We were disappointed that the host never came to greet us. She knew we were Deaf and it would have been nice if she had greeted us. It seemed so strange we never saw the host. She was right next to our little cozy place. The place was nice.

We had no problem with checking in and communicating with the owner. The building was clean and stocked. The problem started when a local raccoon came to the property. I contacted the owner she was aware of the issue. We picked up the cat food that was left outside that he was going after. We shooed him away 4 times. Finally I went inside. He came and put his feet in the pool. He walked around the building we were in after sitting on the deck and doing a little grooming. He would not leave. I was not happy. We wanted to grill outside and eat dinner. We could NOT!! We paid for the use of the items described in the listing grill, pool and patio. We were unable to use the amenities offered.After my text with the owner she came home and looked around. She did not come to check on us or communicate via text. At that time I decided we would not come to a good resolution. My husband went outside to talk to her. She said there was nothing she could do. She couldnā€™t afford to have the raccoon trapped and relocated. She said he was harmless and put out another bowl of cat food for her cats on the property. At which time I contacted VRBO and inquired about a refund. We loved the cats! They were wonderful and welcoming. Unfortunately they like to eat outside and that invites unwanted guests. Before we arrived the owner knew of the situation we were not notified of this before we arrived. I would have asked for a refund and not entered the property.
I knocked on the door and opened it he would not leave.
Wish we could have been in the pool.
Had to stay indoors. It would not leave
Cat door in the bathroom. It was locked but I kept the door closed to the inside unit.

Cute Place

The a/c does not cool the room efficiently, so it made for a hard two nights of sleep. There was a lot of outside noise that contributed to the lack of sleep. (party at the house behind the unit, people talking loudly in the lot next to unit) It is a cute and clean unit although very small. The mattress was very soft. The pool was nice and clean. Check in was easy, and the communication with the owner was good.

Fees out of control

The pool house was absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed my stay but I thought it was above and beyond what should be required if you're going to charge me $80 to clean you expect me to strip the beds and take the trash out. This will cause me not to come back even though I enjoyed my stay here. I know it's not the homeowner's choice. It's VRBO but that will cost you return visitors

Good for us!

Nice little cottage, that worked well for my husband and me. Weā€™re walkers, but it was a bit too far to walk to downtown since there werenā€™t sidewalks and it was raining off and on. Comfy seating area, nice kitchenette with good set up for coffee all ready to go. Could easily have cooked meals! Iā€™m sure it would have been even nicer in pleasant weather to use pool and grill! Plenty of towels and a nice step in shower. Could use a few spruce up touchesā€¦repair TP holder, add some shower soap, etc, but worked for us.
