We booked this property for a restorative retreat with 6 women, drawn in by photos of a well-kept 4-acre property with a hot tub. The reality was very different. We arrived to find the smoke alarm blaring, before we'd even opened the door or entered a code. After three calls, the host's partner arrived over 20 minutes later, disappeared inside, and came out claiming it was fixed. It went off again minutes later. He eventually disconnected the alarms entirely and left to buy new detectors, After approximately 1 hour from our arrival, at the location, we could breathe. I desperately tried to book another location last minute with no avail. We entered the house and were hit by a musky damp smell. The property itself doesn’t look like it has been deep cleaned, with cobwebs on every outside door and damp, musty towels. Outside was worse: the patio furniture was filthy, the hot tub was too grimy and questionable in its chemical levels to use, and the fire pit benches were falling apart. This isn't the property shown in the listing, and it's baffling it holds a 4 out of 5 rating. If you're charging guests this much, the space needs to actually meet that standard.
