Excellent place to stay!

We loved staying here, short walk to the shops and restaurants in kennebunk and not a bad bike ride to the beach. The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed and Nancy was great and easy to get in touch with. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing, it felt like home away from home

We absolutely loved our stay! We still talk about how much it felt like home. The location was perfect, very close to everything we needed. Nancy was also wonderful. I encountered a minor cleaning issue upon arrival, but she responded professionally, apologized sincerely, and even refunded part of the cleaning fee. Aside from that, the place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. I will definitely be back!

Conveniently located, very clean and new. Easy check in and response from Nancy. Great bedding. Only slight disappointment was the minimal natural light in the living room part . Enjoyed our stay

We had a good stay

We had a good stay. Looks larger in photos than it felt. Convenient walk to the shops and restaurants in kennebunk . The place was nice and clean and had everything we needed. Nancy was great and easy to communicate with. Very nice touch with a gift card to a local restaurant. We love supporting local businesses when we travel. I agree with another review, why are we paying a cleaning fee when guests have to take out garbage and recycle, strip bedding, clean and put away dishes.

Ok

Not very updated. Bed had no headboard and pillows against uneven wall. Front door knob was so close to door trim your thumb can easily get pinched so please be careful. Even though you paid a cleaning fee guest had to take out garbage and recycle, strip bedding, clean and put away dishes, etc. Not a great value for price.

Ok. Too much expected of renter

Ok. But had to strip bed, do dishes and put them away, take out garbage and recycled, etc. what is cleaning fee for? Also, a 5.00$ gift card that says have treat on us did not cover half of an item. I rather have no gift card or if you can only part 5$ after I spent over 200$ a night for an average place than throw a large bag of chips that does not cost the renter anything. Joe

Hi there, the homeowners were saddened to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences, and would like to clarify the following: - As is standard for vacation rentals, guests are asked to complete a few small tasks, like stripping linens and removing their own trash, as part of check-out. The cleaning fee goes to a professional service that sanitizes and prepares the home for each new guest. We're looking into this with our cleaning crew to see if there are any opportunities to shorten our list of check-out tasks. - We enjoy supporting our local coffee shops, which is why we've been providing guests with $5 gift cards. These are intended for you to use towards purchasing a drink or pastry, which is why the card says, 'Have a treat on us.' It's our way of extending a kind gesture of hospitality while also contributing to supporting our local small businesses. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

Verbesserungswürdig: Zustand der Unterkunft

Furnishing throughout was done on the cheap. The bedroom was the former livingroom and was dark during the day. There is plenty of room for a king-sized bed. Instead, there was a queen mattress on a metal frame with double sized bedding. The (only) chair in the bedroom was frayed and needs to be reupholstered. The curtains in the bedroom were more like shower curtains on rods, and when we tried to adjust them they fell down. The kitchen was supplied more like a lake cabin. Dishes and glasses were plastic and the silverware was mis-matched. There was no microwave. The thresholds between the rooms are high and were a tripping hazard. The doors throughout were sticky and with only one way out in case of emergency, the sticky door was a hazard. There was no place to sit outside and read. We are a mature couple, used to staying in B&B's and apartments, and found this apartment below our standards for the reasons stated above.
