Welcome to our happy place on the serene shores of Shawanaga Lake—your perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Just 25 minutes from Parry Sound, our property is just steps from the lake adjacent to a convenient boat launch. Whether you’re seeking relaxation or adventure, this tranquil retreat provides something for every season, from cozy winter nights by the fireplace to sun-filled summer days with kayaking and nearby hiking trails.

This property is designed to offer both comfort and convenience. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare delicious meals, and the brand-new BBQ is perfect for outdoor grilling. The newly renovated bathroom ensures a refreshing experience, and high-speed Starlink internet lets you stay connected if needed. Unwind by the private outdoor fire pit, or retreat inside to enjoy the cozy warmth of the indoor fireplace, board games, or a great selection of DVDs.

Accommodating up to 5 guests, our cozy one-bedroom house features a queen bed, a comfortable trundle bed, and a single bed—ensuring a restful night for everyone. Air conditioning/heating, bedding, linens, and towels are provided, so you can focus on relaxation and enjoyment throughout your stay.

Excellent Stay

The cabin was perfect for us and our dog. It is clean with plenty of space and a well-stocked kitchen. The lake is gorgeous and so close to the cabin. Our dog loved romping in it every morning. Our host was kind and very responive. We'd totally stay again.

Cute cabin, Beautiful lake

We enjoyed our short stay in this cute, clean cabin. Great to have kayaks to spend time on the water! Was a quiet setting while we were there but can see it might not be on weekends or holidays. Owners were friendly and helpful and did great to supply what we needed!

Had booked this to spend time on the beach with our kid which is what was shown on the listing. Beach not as advertised at all- basically it’s a boat launch covered in weeds and mud tracks from trucks. Had it booked for 2 nights and left after the first. Host blamed us for not asking questions prior to booking.

Awesome cabin

We had stayed at several different cabins the past 3 years and I can say without a doubt this is the best one without question. It was a nice, comfortable and very clean place. Beautiful location and my favorite part were setting by the fire pit. Plenty of wood to keep the fire going, the upstairs was comfortable to sleep, it did rain the one night and hearing the rain on the tin roof was so peaceful and calming. It is in a very safe area and not too far off the main road but far enough for a very quiet stay. I made the comment to my wife as soon as we walked in the cabin that it had a nice, fresh clean smell. The owner was above and beyond helpful and communicated with me every step of the way. Will for sure rent this cabin again.

Cute!

We had a great time here! The place was great! Its a bit farther from the water than it seemed (as it isnt right outside the home as it seemed) and we had wished there was a baking sheet for the oven. Other than those 2 small things, it was exactly what we thought we were getting! Terry was very kind and consistent, answered messages promptly. Reception for mobile data isnt great, so be aware of that when booking. Thabk you for having us! We had a wonderful time:)

Newly renovated cabin review

Upon arrival to the cabin which was very difficult to find we were shocked to find a delinquent 27 pontoon boat covered in weeds, yard poorly kept, steps on entrance unstable and dangerous, housekeeping extremely poor, shower door didn’t close,faucet taps not connected,sewer smell,wet wood unable to use in the fireplace,not upto verbo standards for the price we paid. Unacceptable. Have pictures for proof and video. We feel a reimbursement of some kind is definitely needed in this unfortunate experience where Pride of ownership was no where to be found.

We went above and beyond to make you comfortable and spoke to you and your husband numerous times to ensure you had everything you needed. Your review is not only unfair, it is untrue. We take pride in our cottage, it is our little slice of heaven. We hope future guests will disregard this review. We are a nice small family who built this new cottage to provide an affordable weekend for friends and family to enjoy the beautiful scenery and peaceful outdoors. I also want to note that this review actually goes against VRBO regulations as it is threatening and clearly a way to try to get a refund and stay for free at someone’s cottage. The comfort and happiness of our customers is all that matters to us. We are nice honest people, please read all other reviews to see that.

Peaceful getaway

We really enjoyed staying at this cute cottage. It was well equipped and having linens and towels provided to us for our 3 night stay was a nice bonus. It is located just off a parking lot for a public small boat launch and beach but being so close to the water really made this a non-issue. We actually enjoyed talking to the few lake cottagers that launched their boats. We recommend bringing cheap folding chairs and sitting them right on the shore to watch sunsets. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake using the provided kayaks. Great owner that is very quick at responding to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect getaway

My husband, our dog and myself had three full days of relaxation. The boat drop off is a perfect lake entrance and the property is perfection. Building fires indoors and out and having ample room to do activities outside. Perfection!

Long weekend getaway

The cottage is not large but it was cozy and well laid out for our family of 4 and 2 pets. We enjoyed touring around the area and the cottage was a great location to come back to at the end of the day. Terry was very responsive when we needed assistance. The cottage needs some more items in the kitchen - like a tea towels and some basic utensils but overall fairly well stocked. Also, the beach area by the cottage isn't the best swimming spot. It is a boat launch which is super busy on the weekend.

Cozy Cabin

The cabin itself is as advertised. Still a few details to finiah on the renivation but overall was what we needed in size and comfort. Note there are no blinds so one can feel “on display” to the parking lot out front. The parking lot is busy on weekends and there’s no privacy between that and the cabin which, as you can see, has a glass garage door wall. I would warn the the “beach” is a busy boat launch, albeit sandy, not conducive to laying around. That said… the hosts are amazing. Thank you Terry for everything and Granda Gary who lives up the hill! Also the neighbours are tremendous and allowed us to use one of their docks to lay out on. The lake is beautiful. Thank you for a lovely week.

Great Getaway

We had a wonderful time with our pup staying at this beautiful, well-kept, tiny home. Amazing access to the water with great amenities like kayaking, fire pit and all-day beaching. Would recommend for a great way to unplug from city living.
