Dolphin has been cleverly designed so that most of the house looks out on the pool and lush garden deck. Floor to ceiling windows mean every room is light-filled and connected to the landscaped garden. Small dogs are welcome on request.
Our open, calm space has been lovingly restored while retaining its 1970s spirit of easy family living. We have filled it with furniture we love from Australian designers and vintage posters and prints in every room.
You enter straight into the open-plan living and dining area, with a wood stove and terracotta-tiled hearth, generous dining table for eight overlooking an internal courtyard, air-conditioning and study or work-from-home nook.
The kitchen has been updated with brand new appliances including an induction cooktop, dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave.
Sleeping up to 11 guests, there are 4 bedrooms, 2 living spaces, 2 bathrooms (one with a bath), a powder-room and laundry fully equipped with washer and dryer. There is also WiFi throughout.
The fully fenced outdoor area is a lovely sun trap with lush planting and an expansive deck around an aquamarine tiled swimming pool and outdoor shower. There is a dining table for eight, a Weber BBQ and a fire-pit for atmospheric winter nights.
Dolphin is on the border of Rye and Blairgowrie, in a quiet back street. It is a short walk to the protected bay beach (900m) and Blairgowrie village (1.8k) which has an excellent local IGA, Meatheath butcher, pharmacy and cafes/restaurants including Beachbox for low-key sandwiches, burgers and shakes; Bonnie for stylish breakfasts and evening cocktails and meals; and Blairgowrie Cafe for its famous (and very very good!) ‘ferger burger’.
We rent only to families or mature groups.
Please note the solar heater in the pool is turned on during the months of November to April and requires the sun to be effective.
