Tranquility by the Lake

Tranquility by the Lake is a contemporary cottage on Tuggerah lake.

This 2 bedroom, waterfront reserve property, is a modern, bright and airy space, designed and built by our family for the weekender getaway in mind.

Suitable for couples or young families, you can sit on the front deck and admire the sunsetting over Tuggerah Lake. Walk out the front door to the lake front walking paths and children's playground. Or stay cosy inside with a wine with the electric fireplace on.

The cottage has been a family project, a labour of love and is decorated in an inviting rustic but modern style, with new comfortable furniture throughout and lots of attention paid to practical ammenities.

We have spent many a family holiday up here on this site and hope that others can enjoy it and respect it in much the same way.

Relaxed stay

Nice and comfy stay for this section of the Great North walk. Loved the walk late afternoon on the lake. Very well equipped, nice beds, all for a happy stay.

Lovely getaway

Yvonne’s lake house was incredible! Super quiet and private, just steps away from the lakefront (which we found quite relaxing) A beautiful home for a small group, clean and we appreciated the bottle of wine that we enjoyed outside on the patio for dinner. Overall a great stay and we would be back again!

Relaxing weekend at a beautiful cottage by the lake

It was a great escape for us as a couple. This modern cottage had beautiful lake views, especially during sunset. We enjoyed a lovely stroll on the lakefront paths and a cozy evening with the electric fireplace. It's the perfect blend of comfort and charm. Highly recommended for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful outlook from the house and our morning walks were just amazing with those views and the beautiful swans in the lake. Yvonne provides everything needed for a comfortable short stay, especially thanks for the coffee pod machine for morning espresso’s as there wasn’t anywhere close to get my morning coffee’s.

Happy Wholesome Holiday

Great location next to bike path, our children had a wonderful time on scooters and we enjoyed morning and evening walks. Great little playground and little area to explore around rocks on lake. House is lovely and new with carefully selected pieces to make it homely. Everything clean and welcoming. Loved the outdoor covered area for morning tea and evening wine! Great communication with host to book an extra night.

Mini Getaway, Mini Cottage

A gorgeous little cottage by the lake! Our long weekend was a wonderful time to be together with friends. The cottage is great for a mini getaway as it isn’t too far from Sydney. The walking pathways along the lake were picturesque with an abundance of birdlife. We visited the local attractions which are a close drive to Nora Head Lighthouse and Rockpool, Soldiers Beach and the Treetops Adventure Park… our teenagers loved it!We were able to contact our host easily and she was very welcoming, friendly and responsive to a couple of minor issues.The cottage is well presented and better suited for 3-4 persons that is couples or families with younger children. So for our group of six, 2 adults and 4 teens it was a bit tight.

Yes, whenever we receive bookings over 4 we always communicate to our guests that the sofa bed option is possible but does take up some of the living space and the cottage is best suited to comfortably accommodate 4 adults. We do like however to provide the option at no extra cost, for a 5th and (6th only on request) for children. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to welcome you back any time.

Tranquility by the Lake

Location of property is second to none of you want a peaceful getaway by the lakeside in a beautifully maintained residence. The whole week was perfect, from the bottle of sparkling wine kindly provided by the host to the presentation and cleanliness of the cottage to the peaceful surroundings - would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of life. Big thank you to Yvonne who was very welcoming once we had booked the property, and was very quick and helpful in repsonding to any queries we had.

Thoughts and advice to improve the stay at this site

Overall, the stay was fine. I stayed there with my sister who is an artist. Weather did affect the stay but it did become cold and windy and not conducive to painting outside. But that had nothing to do with the accommodation. Every clean and as descibed. A few suggestions. 1. new cutlery. The current cutlery not the best design, particularly the knives 2. no bread knife and had to buy one. Took it home with me. 3. no bread board. Had to make do with a platter 4. I needed to work from this location as it was not a holiday for me, but for my sister who was invaliding from cancer treatment. So, I had to work. I was given wifi name and password which did not work. On the notice board someone had provided a wifi name and password, and even though the connection worked, it kept telling me i had no internet connection. Very frustrating and I had to go home Wednesday morning and work from home for 3 days and travelled back up there late Friday afternoon. Not sure what the problem was but internet connection could be very important. Need to be sorted. 5. Need bigger coffee mugs. 2 little mugs not adequate 6. Very peaceful if you don't mind constant people driving down the street and parking their car so they can go for walks, and if you don't mind noisy children using the nearby swings. 7. other than that it was lovely.

What long hours at work

We were working really hard and needed somewhere to rest… but this was like home!! It was clean/pristine, beautifully furnished with warm touches, bed was awesome ( loved the extra pillows) and the outlook - we walked every morning at sunrise even though we worked late. We just seemed to recuperate quicker. And the hosts - well to summarize they are special human beings. Thanks again Amal ,Gerry and Yvonne

We booked two nights and extended to three!

We stayed at Tranquillity by the Lake on a wet weekend and thoroughly enjoyed everything the house had to offer, the nice fire, the comfy couch, the fabulous bath and the great veranda with lake views. Very convenient having a small group of shops just across the road to do the ice cream or coffee run! All up, a very lovely holiday house renovated with love and great taste
