The farmhouse was a nice getaway for the weekend. If you are looking for something out in the country that is quiet with lovely views of the surrounding pastures, this is your place! Although it is a bit remote, it is easy to get into some of the surrounding towns.

Relaxing getaway!

We loved our visit to the country! Enjoyed coffee on the porch every morning while watching the wildlife. The home has all you need so you can focus on unwinding. Beds and linens are comfortable, and the upstairs is nice for the kids to have their own space. We can’t wait to return!

The Roost was absolutely a wonderful place to stay. The peace and quiet we experienced here exceeded our expectations. The views off the back porch were breathtaking as we sat on the rocking chairs sipping our coffee. I wish we could have stayed longer but will definitely be back!

The Roost at Mulberry Creek is one of best places we have stayed. Pictures and description of house is spot on. It is the most adorable farmhouse. It was nestled right in the middle of all the places we wanted to go. We will most definitely go back.

Best weekend ever

Our family had a wonderful time at the farm house. My toddler loved the cows! Very relaxing, house was better than the pictures and spotless. Kitchen was fully stocked with every kind of pan or utensil you would need. The owner was thoughtful and left fresh farm eggs for us in the fridge. We look forward to returning in the future. A Boost from The Roost!

The Roost is situated on a hill behind a locked gate overlooking fields of lush foliage and farm animals. The large porches are the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the view. The inside is pristine and well stocked with everything you need for a relaxing or active vacation. The only negative might be the low water pressure as is common with farmhouses. It will definitely not be a deterrent for future visits as we plan to stay again and again! We loved every minute of our stay!

Peaceful retreat

Beautifully renovated farm house set in excellently maintained rural landscaping. Welcome respite from city life. In the mornings, enjoyed having coffee on back porch and watching fenced off cattle and birds. Property is immaculate. Communication with Sarah Kate and property owners was effortless and prompt. We were running from hurricane Laura and found a perfect haven for calming our frazzled nerves. Made a lot of memories in a charming setting with our daughter and grandchildren.

Unexpected Pleasure

Having grown up in Schulenburg long ago, this visit, accompanied by intergenerational family members, surpassed all expectations. It was incredibly clean inside, and all of the amenities were exactly as described. Beds were comfortable upstairs and down. The antique furniture was appealing. My six-year-old granddaughter from San Francisco loved getting close to the cattle behind the fence. This is, after all, a working cattle farm. I especially appreciated how quiet the St. John area is, in contrast to the noisy urban environment where we live. The gentle southerly breeze from the Gulf of Mexico was exactly as I remembered it growing up locally in the 1940s and 1950s. Rocking on the front or back porch was a special pleasure.

Back in Time

"The Roost" is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the country side. Upon entering the premise we were pleasantly surprised. All the pictures that were featured on the website are exactly what you see when you first drive up. We were able to sit and enjoy the natural beauty of the countryside and the sounds of nature including the cows conversing with each other. The kitchen is well equipped with eating utensils, pots, pans, dishes. This home is off the beaten path, therefore, the only traffic noise is from the vehicles that pass down the lane on the side of the house. Beds were also very comfortable. If you are looking for country atmosphere, this place is for you. We would definitely return if we are in the area.

Girls' Weekend

For a girlfriends weekend trip, five of us came to Schulenburg to visit the Painted Churches. The house was perfect for us with easy access to downtown Schulenburg and surrounding areas. The back and front porches were very relaxing with the rockers and just being able to enjoy watching the cattle graze. The Painted Churches tour/guide (Dennis) was wonderful and very informative. The restaurants and shopping in the area are very good and fun. Schulenburg is a great small town and this house is a perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you for everything!!
