Set on a historic cattle property established in the early 1900s, the cottage sits on its own ridgeline surrounded by rolling green hills, open skies and grazing cattle. Offering complete privacy, it feels a world away while being just 4 minutes from Federal village and 25 minutes from Byron Bay.

Guests have exclusive access to 102 acres of rolling countryside, private river frontage and some of the most beautiful views in the Byron Bay Hinterland.

THE EXPERIENCE

Wake to birdsong and morning mist drifting across the valley.

Spend your days swimming in the Wilson River, reading on the verandah, soaking in the heated magnesium plunge pool, enjoying long baths in the clawfoot tub, exploring the property or simply doing absolutely nothing at all.

As the sun sets, gather around the fire pit with a glass of wine and unlimited complimentary firewood while the stars emerge above the hinterland.

THE PROPERTY

Established in the early 1900s, Heartwood Farm remains a working cattle property, offering guests an authentic hinterland experience while enjoying complete privacy.

The Wilson River forms the property's boundary and provides beautiful places to swim, fish, picnic and unwind beside the water.

Open meadows, rolling hills and mature trees create a sense of space and tranquillity rarely found elsewhere.

Despite its peaceful setting, Heartwood Farm is ideally located for exploring the best of the Northern Rivers region.

THE COTTAGE

Lovingly renovated and styled, the cottage combines heritage character with modern comfort.

Every detail has been carefully considered, from the curated furnishings and vintage treasures to the quality linens and thoughtful touches throughout.
The cottage features two queen bedrooms and accommodates up to five guests, including a rollaway bed available on request.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The cottage features two queen bedrooms.
Bookings for 1–2 guests include access to the master bedroom.
Access to both bedrooms requires a booking for a minimum of 3 guests.
A rollaway bed is available for a fifth guest at an additional charge of $100 per night.

Please advise at the time of booking if you require the rollaway bed.

FOR FAMILIES

Due to the delicate nature of the furnishings and décor, Heartwood Farm is generally best suited to adults and children aged 12 years and over.
Families wishing to bring younger children are welcome to contact us prior to booking. A refundable $500 security deposit is apply.
