Kahaluu Beach Holmes ist ein großartiges Ferienhaus mit einer spektakulären Aussicht! Wir sind nur 300 Fuß vom Kahaluu Beach entfernt, einem der besten Schnorchelstrände der Insel. Unser Haus bietet einen unvergleichlichen Blick auf den Strand und einen Panoramablick auf den Pazifischen Ozean von unseren großen Lanais. Wir bieten 4400 m² Wohnfläche auf zwei Ebenen und können 14 Personen bequem unterbringen.

Die beiden obersten Stockwerke des dreistöckigen Hauses sind jeweils ca. 200 m² groß. Beide haben zwei King Schlafzimmer / zwei Badezimmer, eine voll ausgestattete Küche, ein großes Wohnzimmer und eine private Veranda mit wunderschönem Meerblick. Für größere Gruppen hat jede Ebene einen bequemen Queen-Size-Futon mit einer "echten" Matratze, einen Queen-Size-Schlafsofa und im 2. Stock ein zusätzliches Queen-Size-Murphy-Bett. Dies ermöglicht Betten für 16 und der letzte bekommt eine Schlafcouch!

Jede Etage hat einen eigenen Eingang sowie eine komfortable Treppe auf zwei Ebenen, die sie verbindet.

Das Haus ist voll möbliert, es gibt tolle Parkplätze, Wäscherei, WIFI, Kabel und die Aussicht vom Dachgeschoss ist unübertroffen. Ohne Frage eine der besten Ferienwohnungen in der Gegend.

Wir sind 300 Fuß (ein einfacher Spaziergang die Auffahrt hinunter) vom Kahaluu Beach entfernt! Zweifellos einer der besten Schnorchelplätze auf der Big Island. Von einer Süßwasserquelle gespeist, bis zu 10 Millionen Gallonen pro Tag. Diese Gewässer sind fast immer ruhig, mit bunten Korallen, Felsformationen und mehr als 100 Fischarten. Schwimmen Sie mit riesigen Schwärmen bunter Fische und grüner Meeresschildkröten in diesen geschützten Gewässern. vergiss deine unterwasserkamera nicht!

Am nördlichen Ende des Strandes brechen die Wellen und eignen sich am besten zum Bodyboarden und Surfen. Die örtlichen Surflehrer geben dort regelmäßig Unterricht. Kahaluu ist wegen des ruhigen, geschützten Wassers sehr beliebt - ideal für Familien und Kinder sowie für den abenteuerlustigen Wellengänger. Schattige Bäume umgeben diesen schönen Sandstrand. Zur Ausstattung gehören ein Pavillon, Ruheräume, Duschen und ein Rettungsschwimmerturm. Ermäßigungsstände, Surfschule und Verleih von Strandausrüstung.

Great location, dated accommodation.

You stay here because of the location. Being a short walk away from some excellent snorkeling and beautiful views are the standouts of this Vrbo. It is also a short drive to downtown Kona and to a nearby shopping area with a grocery store. The accommodation itself is dated and would be surprised if it was ever updated and there are aspects of the house the need a refresh especially considering the price point of the home. Furthermore given the 400 cleaning fee I would expect the home to be spotless upon arrival but it was not. If you are looking for a pleasant and simple place near a prime snorkeling spot this is your place. But its cost point and lackluster accommodation quality would have me looking at other options in the future.

Group of 7 adults. We had a great stay at this place. Home is clean, spacious, has everything you need but you need to bring your own toiletries. Great for a family vacation

Our family of 8 stayed in the top two floors of the home, which is just a long driveway from Ali'i Drive, and then across the street to Kahulu'u Beach. It worked out very well for us! A kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms on each floor plus boogie boards and water shoes to share. There are several homes along the driveway, ruins of an old heiau on Ali'i, and snorkeling at the beach. A relaxed place to spend a week!

This was just perfect for us. Kids stayed on 1 level and adults on the other. Location was far enough from the hustle and bustle of Kona but close enough when you want to go into town. Sound of ocean drowned out the road noise from Ali'i Dr. Snorkeling was AMAZING.

Amazing location of the perfect house for a large group!

This house was perfect for our large family! We were able to let our adult children and their significant others take the 2nd floor and we took the 3rd floor! It was very close to a very cool snorkeling location! We enjoyed the quick access to a beautiful beach! I got a little anxious raising for instructions for checking in however they sent it slightly early so that was nice!

Wonderful location

This house was set in a wonderful location! We were able to snorkel and rent surfboards right across the street! It was perfect. There is a grocery store within 5 minutes and you are able to cook in if you want. At first we were nervous about no air co di Orion if but don’t let that scare you off! once you open the windows and turn the fans on it is perfect! The outside porches are also the perfect place to relax and watch the sun set!

Great location

My wife and I have been to Kona a few times and knew that Kahaluu Bay would be an excellent location for the grandkids. The trolley was just a few steps further from the beach-just remember the trolley runs on “island time”! Great views from the 2 lanais-we even spotted a few whales. Rainbows and gorgeous sunsets were a nice bonus. We would definitely stay again. The grandkids named the neighborhood alarm clocks (2 roosters) Jimmy and Fred! Good times for all

Family memories to last a lifetime

We just got back from our 12 day stay. We rented the entire house and the 10 of us fit very comfortably. The house is exactly as pictured, very neat and clean. The snorkeling beach is directly across the street and fabulous. The view and sunsets are to die for. The owners are extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. There were boogie boards, snorkels, fins, beach chairs, towels, and water shoes available for our use. Because of the washer and dryer on site we packed lighter and only had carry-ons for luggage! Owner told us about cheaper but very good places to eat that were close by. Don't miss the Hawaiian BBQ at the shopping center.

Miserably Hot in July

Great location but poor airflow and no AC made for a miserable time in late July when the temps were high 80s with very high humidity. Couldn’t escape the heat which made the house pretty uncomfortable in the afternoons and evenings. Luckily it did cool off enough in the night to make sleeping pleasant. Unless you are OK with high humidity and high temps, I would advise renting this home only in the cooler months!

Best house at Kahalu’u

We were sooo lucky to have this house. The views are amazing, the top balcony sits above all the other houses for a full ocean view. Sunsets every night and moon sets every morning. Kahalu’u beach is literally at the end of the driveway and across the slow, safe street of Ali’i Drive. We walked to the beach barefoot, and could see our balcony from the beach. The surf school there is kind and accommodating. We rented snorkeling gear and the kids took awesome, successful surf lessons. Snorkeling at Kahalu’u was amazing. Safe, shallow, easy, FULL of fish. Location is as good as it gets. The house itself was comfortable, plenty of room for 8 of us with 4 showers and 4 bedrooms. The caretaker was accessible, friendly, non-intrusive and helpful. Thank you for this incredible place!

good position, great space and excellent view

this property is well located with shops nearby, good snorkelling across the road and central to most attractions around the island (as long as you have a car). Well set up for large groups. The property is on 2 levels that are identical (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen & large living area on both levels). Everything was satisfactory, but the beds, kitchen, bathroom and overall feel are old and tired. Definitely need an upgrade. Also, top floor does not have ceilings in bedrooms, so light and sound from kitchen/living room travels to bedrooms. Arrival instructions were disappointing. We only got the contact phone no. and final details on the morning we arrived which may be OK for some people, but when you've come from another country it's a bit disconcerting.

Unsatisfactory but good location and view

Unclean but tidy. Some bedrooms have open wall at top and light switch in one room controls electricity in second. No mention of outside stairs and mobility challenge for older persons. Local contact did not send code until 2 hrs before check-in. They have rigid rules for 3 cars parking only but did not state until check in. Site check-in has wrong contact, he did not work for owner for 2 yrs. Local contact stated no others allowed in house but the 10 people. Site states no more overnight-no mention of day visitor rules. This means we could not attend our family dinner as we stayed at another location. Good location and views. House needs an upgrade and new local contact team. AC would be good in the pm.

Great view & location, but a few cons I wish I knew before booking:

This house has an incredible view and location. It’s so great to be able to walk down the driveway and be at an incredible snorkeling beach. It is also a good size and layout for multi-generational families traveling together. There are a few cons I would have liked to have known prior to booking. The house is worn out, some of the furniture is broken and sinking (the owner notified me 2 days after checking in that the futon was broken and not to use it), the dishes are chipped, and the landing to the front door is a serious liability that is about to fall through. Secondly, the owner watches you on their outdoor camera in the yard. I was contacted on day 2 of my 7 day stay and asked to not sit on the outdoor patio set at the bottom of the stairs, this set is right in the middle of the space we are “allowed” to use. There is no sign or note in the thorough house rules book that states this. Lastly, you pay a cleaning fee but are still expected to do your dishes, take out the trash and put the dirty laundry in the laundry baskets. On top of that, we had to wash all the dishes prior to using because they were put away in the cupboards dirty!

Excellent location, lots of room.

This property has an amazing view from the lanai. The sunsets were gorgeous. The snorkeling and beach at the end of the driveway was as good as any other we discovered on the island. We vacationed as a family of 9, ages 18 to 71. This house has 4 bedrooms but we were 3 couples and 3 singles. All bedrooms had comfortable beds but we arrived at a time of an unpresidential winter storm and not enough blankets provided. When I contacted the manager I was told that was a first for them and getting extra bedding was like pulling hens teeth. The Murphy bed downstairs was great, very comfortable but the futon mattresses were unusable due to buckling. The hideabed upstairs we were told was broken. The unit was tidy but not clean. I discussed the cleanliness with one of the managers and requested they have a thorough look thru the unit and they might think of a change of cleaning staff. Communication was sketchy but not their fault as I had changed email addresses between booking and rental and vrbo did not inform the owners. They could have given us the entry code a day or so earlier instead of last minute, just for piece of mind. I would recommend this property for the view and spaciousness and locality.

Location is great if you like to snorkel!! Take pics of the place after you clean to prove you did!

Beautiful views from the balcony, close to a snorkel beach, great for 2 families as it's like 2 separate apartments. Temps were perfect so the fact that there's no A/C was fine this time of year. Don't think it would be bearable in summer, however. Dishes weren't very clean, many mugs stained, apparently from coffee. Maybe because there's no dishwasher? Also, utensil holder in drawer had crumbs and some dried up brown liquid so I cleared the whole drawer out, washed all the utensils plus the holder before we used them. Also washed all the dishes prior to use. My 83 year old father also spent 5+ hours the day before check out cleaning the upper level apartment, cleared table, counters, swept entire floor, but since we couldn't find a book in the place, we weren't sure if we needed to do dishes. Since we paid a significant cleaning fee and had to wash all the dishes prior to use ourselves anyway, we figured leaving dishes in the sink would be fine. It wasn't, they kept an additional dollar amount over double the original cleaning fee because they said the house was left a mess. TAKE PICTURES of the place BEFORE you leave so you can prove their claim as false if they say you didn't clean!! Great place to stay if you want to snorkel and you're fine with cleaning dishes prior to use, but be sure to clean them afterward, too, or you will be charged MORE than the included cleaning fee. We rent our homes out in CA and our cleaner could have easily knocked out what we left while the linens were being washed, frankly. All for LESS than the originally listed cleaning fee, but we were charged more than double that fee, a ridiculous amount for cleaning!! Lesson learned....ALWAYS take pics before vacating any rental so you have them to send the owner when they say it wasn't cleaned. :/ We LOVED our stay, even with the inconvenience of having to pre-clean dishes and the utensil drawer, but were not pleased that they kept half of our deposit!!
