A typical 19th century Charente Manor House set in spacious gardens with a 12 x 6 metre pool. The 7 rooms are over 2 floors with private bathrooms; some rooms share a bathroom. The unique ambiance of the house comes from the high ceilings, beautiful, large dining room with views to the vineyard next door and huge lounge with comfortable sofas and chairs, fireplace and an elegant hallway. Bedrooms have high ceilings and are tastefully and luxuriously decorated. The large kitchen is fully equipped with double oven, gas cooker, grill, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is a dining table in the kitchen. There's plenty of space for barbecues and lazing around in the extensive gardens, with sun-beds and garden furniture. The house has tall double-glazed windows which are newly installed.

Beautiful house in Epargnes

This 200 yr+ home was beautiful. It is well maintained. Met all of our traveling needs. The host were exceptional and truly helpful. Pool might be solar heated only as it was chilly. Listing was very accurate. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Big enough to accomadate family time yet allow for privacy when needed.

All in all our experience has been top notch. We couldn’t have asked for any more. The accommodation was perfect for a big group of 15 with a broad range of ages of children from nearly 3yo to 14yo. The rooms were beautiful with a well equipped kitchen to suit all our needs. As for the pool, well this was a little gem for us all. Phil and Sharon were always on hand if we needed anything and happy to help organise a trip to the local vineyard (a must) and booking us into the local restaurant (not to be missed). We all had a fab time and are already looking at coming back!

It was an absolute pleasure to host Hannah and family and friends. We are so happy that they enjoyed their holiday with us and made the most of the local amenities we are lucky to have here, vineyards and a great restaurant. They were very respectful of the property and left it very clean and tidy. We hope we'll see them again very soon.

The Logis d'Epargnes is a wonderful large period house with a beautiful large garden and a fantastic pool! We enjoyed the large outside table for Al Fresco meals and really enjoyed the loungers and the pool itself. The kitchen was well stocked and we ate most meals at "home". Epargnes is a very small but picturesque village with a very good boulangerie and a wonderful restaurant.The fact that the owners live onsite was unknown to us when we rented and is a bit disconcerting but Sharon and Phil left us to our own devices and were helpful when needed.The showers are pretty small but that is typical of such a period house. The bedrooms were comfortable and the amenities were great. A fantastic family (two families) holiday for 14 of us (including the Petit Logis).

Thank you for your very kind review of our property and your holiday experience. We are delighted that you had such an enjoyable stay with us. It must be said that the pool is the highlight for many of our guests, especially the children, perhaps due to its size of 12 x 6 metres (and it's heated too!). For the benefit of other VRBO customers, it is actually mentioned on the VRBO site, as well as in our Ts&Cs that you read, that we live beside the Manor house; of course, we keep a very low profile and, as you say, we are there for you if you need us. Actually, the shower in your room is the smallest; in the house, there are 2 other Italian style walk-in showers and 2 of 90cm x 90cm. We thank you again for staying with us and are so glad you enjoyed your holiday with us. Best regards Sharon and Phil

Summer 2023

Perfect for an extended family get together. It was well equipped and everything worked. The garden had lots of outdoor things to do as well as the lovely pool and the children were very happy. My only concern was that the house was furnished to a high standard with ornaments and things as well as lovely soft furnishings which was not ideal for children and caused some anxieties amongst the adults. We had a brilliant week though despite not a lot of sunshine. Highlights were the pool for the children,and our nightly barbeque on the terrace.

Week-end prolongé en famille

Superbe demeure où nous avons pu passé un excellent séjour en famille ! De magnifiques chambres décorées avec goût ainsi que de très belles pièces de vie très spacieuses, un superbe et très grand jardin, des hôtes très sympathiques et accueillants ! Tout était parfait !

Family holiday for an 80th birthday

Sharon and Phil were lovely hosts...Happy to help with any questions. The house was well stocked, heated pool was used for many hours of fun. Location was great ....about 30 mins from all the places we wanted to go....pons, saintes, zoo, beach at Palais sur mer. Absolutely fab restaurant in the village, where we had the best 3 course meal, definitely not to be missed.
