Wenn Ihr tropische Träume einen Wunsch nach Privatsphäre gehören, einen wundervollen Garten, einen eigenen Hinterhof und einen Komfort, der sich ein Haus bietet von zu Hause, Casa de las Olas (House of the Waves) könnte nur sein, was Sie suchen . In der Casa de las Olas, wenn Sie ankommen wir Ihnen gerne glauben, "Drop In" zum Leben !!!

Das 2 Schlafzimmer, 2 Badezimmer Privathaus ist eine der wenigen persönlichen, Einfamilienhäusern für die Öffentlichkeit in Tamarindo. Auf halbem Weg zwischen Tamarindo und Langosta, ist Casa de las Olas versteckt von der Hektik der Stadt in einer ruhigen, erstklassige Lage, die nur 100 Meter von der sicherste Badestrand in der Gegend ist, und eine kurze zwei Minuten zu Fuß von einem der feinsten Restaurants in Tamarindo. "Stadt" ist eine schöne 10 Minuten zu Fuß den Strand hinunter.

Ihr Gastgeber erkennt, dass, wenn Sie nach einem Ferienhaus suchen, Sie viele Möglichkeiten haben. In Teilen meiner Heimat mit Ihnen, mein Ziel ist es, Ihnen einen unvergesslichen tropischen Erlebnis zu bieten, zu einem Preis, als viele der moderaten Preisen Hotelzimmer oder überfüllten Wohnung Komplexe weniger ist.

Wenn Sie eine private Einstellung bevorzugen, können Sie beginnen zu verstehen, warum dieses Haus nach Immobilien in der Tamarindo einer der begehrtesten Gebiet geworden ist. Ob es sich um Surfen, Angeln, Tauchen, Schnorcheln, erkunden, Lesen oder einfach nur alte entspannend in den Hängematten, teilen Sie dem Casa de las Olas Ihre tropische Oase sein.

Hinweise des wahren "Wert" dieses Eigentum:
Nachdem vor kurzem zurückkehrte, begann ich, was ein Schnäppchen wirklich verstehen, dieses Haus zu den meisten anderen Immobilien in der Region verglichen wird. Ich werde ständig gesagt, dass ich bin "unter priced" und dass "die Bilder es nicht gerecht werden." Ich kann Ihnen diesen "Wert" anbieten, weil ich diese Immobilie vor 30 Jahren gekauft habe (lange bevor Tamarindo "entdeckt" wurde). Obwohl es wahrscheinlich nicht für jeden funktioniert, da es keinen Pool gibt, fordere ich Sie heraus, ein besseres Angebot zu finden, vor allem, wenn man bedenkt, dass das Haus mit 2 Surfboards und 2 Fahrrädern im Stil eines Beach Cruiser ausgestattet ist. Boogie Boards; Kühler; und andere "Toys". Und, wenn ich nach Hause bin (ich habe ein kleines "Casita" Studio über der Garage, die ich bei gelegentlich zu bleiben), Sie sogar Ihre eigenen haben im Haus Costa Rica Berater - Ich wünsche Ihnen das Beste aus Ihren Ferien Beratung !!!

Obwohl sich VRBO dramatisch verändert hat, wie Eigentümer und Gäste interagieren können, habe ich kürzlich die Gelegenheit genutzt, die Bewertungen zu meinem Objekt und unserem gesamten Team erneut zu lesen. Als Eigentümer und derjenige, der letztendlich dafür verantwortlich ist, Ihnen eine Immobilie auf eine Art und Weise zur Verfügung zu stellen, die auf dieser Website genau dargestellt ist, möchte ich Folgendes zum Ausdruck bringen - ich kann Ihnen nicht ausreichend mitteilen, wie sehr Sie unser gesamtes Team schätzen und dankbar sind ist es, so viele wunderbare und unglaubliche Bewertungen erhalten zu haben. The perfect place to stay if you are looking for a quiet get away in Tamarindo.

Perfect place to stay in Tamarindo. Just takes a couple of minutes to walk to the beautiful beach of Tamarindo and a short walk to town with all of the amazing restaurants and shops. The Casita at Casa de Las Olas

We had the best time in Tamarindo and especially at Rik and Susan’s home. Couldn’t have been more happy with the hospitality and the property itself. The pool and tropical backyard was the icing on the cake plus only a 3-5 min walk across the street to the breathtaking beach. We look forward to coming back ASAP!

Absolutely amazing vacation

I cannot say enough good things about Casa de las Olas. It is in the perfect location, a one minute walk to a beautiful, uncrowded beach. It has everything you need, including a well stocked kitchen, bikes, and surfboards to use. And Rik is the perfect host - he has so many recommendations and is super responsive to any questions or issues you might have. We can’t wait to stay here again on our next visit!!

Perfect spot in Tamarindo!

We couldn’t have made a better selection for our vacation in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. The casita was lovely with everything we needed. The pool, gardens, and outdoor living area were ideal. The beach access was just across the street. The property is in the quieter area of Tamarindo which was nice. It’s an easy walk to restaurants. Rik and Susan were gracious hosts. It was just the property and vacation we were looking for!

Beautiful Place

Tamarindo is a beautiful little town with very friendly people. Casa de las Olas was is a beautiful very clean well kept house. Rik (the landlord) is a awesome man, he was there to help with everything we needed. You just cross the street and go down a short path and there's the most beautiful soft sand beach. Great location. Close to the beach…but peaceful as well!

We enjoyed our week at the house. Loved the outdoor showers! Air conditioning worked well. Housekeeping was an added plus. Loved the pool area and covered patio to escape the sun. The biggest drawback would be the locks required between the 2 units. Didn’t like that and really didn’t understand what it wouldBe like….and that is why I gave it a 4 star. Better suited for just adults I would say.

We miss Tim already

We had an absolute wonderful time at Rik's place, from walking along the beach for dinner in town to the Palo Verde national park, but the highlight of our vacation was coming across the Olive Ridley Turtles babies digging out of their nest while walking back from dinner , not 100 meters from Rik's place, and yes we made sure ALL the turtles made it to the ocean (100+) Thanks Rik for the great hospitality and local knowledge

A Gem steps from the Beach

The details, furnishings and garden show a true labour of Love. Rik has created a real garden of Eden near the Beach with all the toys included. We enjoyed our walks along the Ocean, but there were bicycles and surfboards available, too. Birds, iguanas and monkeys gave us great entertainment as we enjoyed this property and the closeness to the Beach. Kitchen was very well equipped--but as we were on vacation we took advantage of several beachfront restaurants--very good!! Thanks, Rik

Quiet, comfortable oasis

I stayed at Casa de Las Olas over New Year's with my 2 teenage sons. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. We did cook some using the well equipped kitchen rather than eat out all meals. The twin hammocks on the front porch got a lot of use and the beach was just steps away. Did not think it would be needed, but I did appreciate the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night. The gardener even changed a flat tire for me while my teenagers were snoozing!

Paradise in Costa Rica

Hard to describe this house because there's SO much to rave about. It's beautiful, extremely well maintained, reasonably priced, within walking distance to everything you need, includes all the equipment you need to enjoy the beach across the street, and the owner is incredibly helpful. We didn't bother renting a vehicle because we could walk for everything we needed (on that fabulous beach!) or take a quick cab ride to bring home a bunch of groceries. We are so glad that we chose this location and this house --- they are the definition of "hidden gems". Thank you, Rik, for an unbelievable hoiday in paradise. We can't wait to come back!

An incredible and impressive home

This home exceeded any expectation we had. The pictures can't come close to the space and setting this home has to offer, seriously. We were just a short walking distance to what felt like a secluded beach, which was also close to an very nice boutique hotel that offered a quaint breakfast, dinner, and/or drinks. During our stay we also often found ourselves just as happy spending time on our front area lounging on hammocks, which was private and surrounded by a lush landscape. The owner Rik was extremely helpful during our stay, and we are appreciative for all his information he provided us. We are definitely coming back!

Costa Rica Relaxation

My wife and I recently stayed at Casa de las Olas for 2 weeks and had the most relaxing time at this wonderful house seconds away from Playa Tamarindo. Let the world spin on, but here you can just take it easy. The house is secluded, landscaped beautifully and immaculately maintained. Go surfing with the boards supplied with the house or snorkeling with the equipment that is there for you. The house is a short walk on the beach into town and near many restaurants. You can take a bike ride on the two beach cruiser bikes that stay at the house also. This was our 5th stay at Casa de las Olas and you can bet we will return again.

Perfect house in Paradise !!

The three of us just returned home from a 6 day stay at Casa De Las Olas and could not be any happier! The house was perfect for our needs, equipped with everything we needed and more. The housekeeper was there every other day along with the gardener, would of loved to brought them home with us !! We had many meals at home and the kitchen was very well equipped. The location is just steps away from the beach and we loved the peace and quiet of the neighborhood. Rik the owner was awesome to work with, answered our emails promptly and is very well respected and liked in Tamarindo. He has thought of everything to make his houseguests stay enjoyable and problem free. We highly recommend this property and plan on returning !!

Beautiful studio on quiet side of Tamarindo

Lovely studio that is very well appointed and has everything you need. Rik and Susan are easy to work with and have done a beautiful job taking care of the property. They have a wealth of information regarding Tamarindo and the surrounding area. The beach (Tamarindo) is very accessible and just a few steps away. We love that we are close to Tamarindo beach to hit the waves and Langosta beach (a short walk) to find seashells and the tide pools are fun to explore. We loved the restaurant next door. The pool area is very lush and beautiful. The pool was so nice to take a quick dip to cool off. It was a bit hot for us, but Rik and Susan can’t control the weather sadly (LOL). Also, the sun comes into the windows very early so bring an eye mask if you need it to be dark to sleep. We hope to return soon!

Safe broke. A/C did not work properly. Three rolls of TP for four people for two weeks.

House was too hot to cook in. Lights burnt out and were never replaced. Wifi was slow and only worked in living room. Asked if we could use BBQ and was told he would get back to us and never did.

Great house, great value, great owner!

My husband and I have stayed in Casa de las Olas several times in the last few years: just the two of us, the two of us along with our daughter and her baby, and also with another couple. We've stayed for as few as 6 days and as long as a month. The layout of each bedroom being adjacent to a bathroom makes sharing the house work out great. The house is always immaculate. Irania, the housekeeper, comes 3 times a week which is just perfect. Rik is a great neighbor/landlord - always helpful, always willing to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I agree with all the other reviews so don't want to repeat the comments.. This is THE BEST BUY in Tamarindo. You can't go wrong choosing Casa de las Olas. (Love ya', Rik!)

Amazing experience!

This property is not to be overlooked. Exactly as described in the listing. Rik couldn’t have been a better host. Gave us clear check in instructions, then he showed up a few minutes later. We chatted and he offered us any advise or suggestions we needed. Just a real class guy, laid back loves what he does and is very proud of his Casa de Las Olas, as he should be. We were two couples, my wife and I and my brother and his wife. They had never been to CR, and were greatly impressed. Literally out the door and to one of the most beautiful beaches in 100 yards. Then you can stroll along the wide beach and stop in at any number of restaurants and bars along the beach. If you’re there on a Friday, the hotel across the street has a beach barbecue in a beautiful setting, with food cooked grilled right there on the beach and Costa Rican entertainment following. I could go on and on, but just know you can’t find it much better than Rik’s place.

NOTE: For the first time in almost 40 years, as the original Owner and Builder of Casa de las Olas, I (Rik) have sold the property (December 2025). That's the Bad News. The Good News is that I have sold the property to my Nephew, Jason and his Wife Chelsea. Over the years, the entire Team at Casa de las Olas has worked diligently to take care of our Guests so that they would truly enjoy their hard-earned vacation and have a Wonderful Stay at this incredible property. Based on the entire Teams efforts, we have consistently earned a 5-Star rating AND we have many Guests that have returned for multiple years.

In terms of your consideration of choosing Casa de las Olas, Jason and Chelsea are keeping every member of our long standing Staff in place. In doing so, with this change in Ownership, you can assured that nothing will affect your holiday in any way. Irania, our House Cleaner of 26 years will still take GREAT care of you as she always has and Victor, our Gardner will continue to maintain our Beautiful Gardens.

I'm an old California "Surf Rat" who has spent a vast majority of my time traveling the globe looking for waves. In 2009 I retired from the Fire Service. Like everyone, I've had some challenges, but I keep a smile on my face most of the time and laugh at myself fairly often.
I still love surfing, chasing waves, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and sharing Casa de las Olas with old and new friends alike!

I purchased this property in 1987, which was long before Tamarindo was "discovered," and literally, there was nothing here!

I built the home between 1992 and 2000. Since I was intimately involved in all phases of the construction, and Tamarindo was quite primitive at the time, I had to bring down most of the materials i.e., plumbing, electrical, etc. in Rubbermaid plastic bins. Even though I have been active in my life, the construction and logistics of building this home was one of the most challenging things I've ever done.

Since I've spent a fair bit of my time chasing waves in the backyards of the world, I knew that one day I wanted to retire in the Tropics and Tamarindo seemed to be a good place. Although it's changed dramatically over the years, Tamarindo is still a great place to kick back and enjoy life.

In 2022, Susan and I took on the grand project of remodeling the backyard into a real tropical paradise that includes a pool, tropical garden, large rancho, and lounging spaces. We LOVE our backyard paradise and hope you and your family and friends will too!

Casa de las Olas is in one of the best locations and neighborhoods to stay in Tamarindo. It is a traditional Costa Rican style home that prioritizes the beauty of simplicity and incorporating outdoor spaces into living. We call it's style "Tico-Eclectic" because it is a combination of traditional local style and surfer style, which includes beautiful and comfortable amenities inside and out.
Casa de las Olas is a very short walk to the a beautiful beach, with a private lounging pool and tropical paradise in the backyard. Which includes a rancho/BBQ-kitchenette and dining space, sun loungers, tropical gardens, hammock, WIFI, toilet, and outdoor tropical showers. For your beach adventures, guests have the use of two surfboards, two boogie boards, two bicycles, and a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP).
Casa de las Olas is well appointed with all of the modern indoor/outdoor conveniences and comforts. So no matter what you prefer, whether it's surfing, lounging in the pool, or laying in the hammock, Casa de las Olas is a special place people love and continue to return.
