We love staying at Nihilani. It is a great property in a good location with a nice pool and hot tub. The unit itself is spacious and fully stocked with everything you need for your vacation. The unit is probably due for an update and a refresh, it was looking a little tired. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this property.

House was perfect for our family of 5. Easy access to Hanalei. Nearby market and restaurants were very convenient. Pool and hot tub got a lot of usage. The home was well appointed and had everything we needed. Will definitely book again.

Lived in Paradise for a week

The property was great. It was cozy and the family was comfortable there. I feel like it could have had a few more amenities and some more decor, but it was very nice.

This was a great rental for our family Christmas vacation. The grounds are beautiful and the unit had plenty of space for us. We encountered a few minor issues with the unit (broken faucet, screen door) but the Parrish group was very responsive and always pleasant to communicate with. Would recommend this as a great family unit.

Awesome vacation property

Great accommodations. Very clean and spacious lodging with a location that's near to beaches and restaurants. Realty company was easy to work with and accommodating. Only complaint is a very minor one. The condo furnished a cooler and 3 beach chairs. I think it should have had at least 4 chairs (it is a 3 bedroom condo and it would stand to reason more than 3 people would be booking) and a beach umbrella. However, these items can easily be rented close by if required. We'll be back next year!

Clean, comfortable, well managed

This unit was very clean, well appointed and comfortable for my family of five. No ocean view, but a bit of space outside so it didn't feel like you were looking right into the next unit. The appliances were all so sophisticated we actually had trouble figuring out how to use them, but got there. The pool is close. Overall our stay was very nice (the rain, however, was not) and the management company was great.

It was one of the largest rainfalls ever recorded and we are still recovering. Do not hold it again Kauai, it is not common for us to see something like that and hopefully not again for a very long time. Aloha.

Everything you need and more.

This was a very clean spacious villa with lots of room for us and our 3 teenagers. Big living area with enormous television with huge amount of channels. The Kitchen ....where do I start - they even had a breadmaker and rice cooker. (No I didn't use them!!) We actually cooked each night in this amazing kitchen because there was a supermarket just down the road (discount card provided with keys). Huge master suite - comfy bed. The boys feet did hang off the end of the single beds (they are close to 6ft) but it was their sister's turn for the double bed so she was very happy! Enormous laundry facilities. Beach gear in garage. Everything a family could possibly want. (Air con and fans too). Although the pool was under maintenance which was sad - we just went to the beach (be very careful -dangerous surf on many -read the information book on the coffee table for good advice about the different beaches.) Mahalo!

Great Location

The property is in a beautiful location - perfect for exploring the North Shore. The townhouse is spacious and situated in a great spot in the complex. We were very comfortable here. Our only issues were a broken dryer (so we couldn't do any laundry for the week we were there); a broken microwave and range hood fan; a slider door on ground floor that was only able to be locked with a wooden pole (so no actual lock); and a filthy lanai on the ground floor (covered in chicken poop when we arrived and only got worse). Beach toys/gear supplied in the garage was nice -but some of it was broken and unusable so needs a refresh. Despite that, overall, would recommend the property, but I think it needs some TLC.

Nice layout, needs repairs, lack of communication

Very nice layout, large, clean , nicely located unit. Decor was generally nice and current. As with most island appliances, warranty issues & waiting for repairs (ice maker & microwave) no biggie. Curtain rod ready to fall down in living room, safe in master almost fell out injurying an adult, no lock of slider downstairs (used a dowel rod) no working screen on upstairs slider when we arrived but we managed to get one on laying against house, no lock on that slider & No Lock OR dowel rod so door could Not be secured. Contacted manager. TVs did not work, they sent someone, she fixed them, then they all went out again. Had 3 TVs none worked for 5 days. Their response was they have 300 units and Covid has been hard but they waited to say that on checkout. They just wouldn’t respond. Plus the woman that temporarily fixed the TVs said she brought a rod to secure the slider and that was a total lie. Oh, also not one instruction on how to use the TV remote…..yikes! There were painters across the street with two story ladders which made us uneasy about an unlocked door along with a worker doing outside repairs on this unit. So, take your chances…..

Very nice location

Very nice home in a good location. Easy to drive for groceries, etc and to the beach. I have stayed in other VRBOs and AB&Bs that had much nicer outdoor accommodations. The older, rusted chairs and broken beach chairs and equipment reduced my rating. Shame to let a home this nice be flavored by those details. Otherwise, a great, pretty and comfy place tp stay.

PAY NO ATTENTION TO NEGATIVE REVIEWS

We just finished spending 7 days here, and the house is awesome! The furnishings and decor make this the perfect place to call home for a few days. One reviewer gave the property a rating of "0" because they said every appliance was broken. That is simply not true! Everything was simply perfect with the exception that the ice dispenser did not work, so we just opened up the door and got ice. We loved everything about the place!

Overall a nice stay

Overall this property was nice. We have stayed in this unit before and knew the neighborhood was lovely and the location was where we wanted to be. The neighborhood is quiet, beautifully kept, and has a nice pool area with BBQs. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. The home itself needs a little updating. We were told after checkin that the clothes dryer didn’t work and that the microwave and refrigerator needed minor repairs. The bathroom showers needed updating as we could see mold and stains. I would suggest the owners invest in new furniture for the lanais. There were only two stained chairs per lanai - no tables or loungers. I personally like to spend lots of time relaxing outdoors when in Hawaii. I would have liked to see more inviting outdoor furniture.

Clean Property, but Appliances Were Broken

Property was great, clean, and perfect for our needs, but a few appliances were broken. Dishwasher had standing dirty water in it that smelled terrible and was not fixed during our stay. Microwave handle was broken. Both of these things were conveyed to us upon checkin, but we were under the impression someone would be by to fix it. Spending extra time doing dishes was slightly inconvenient, but not the end of the world. The coffee table binder needs to be updated as the WiFi and checkout instructions were not accurate.

Do not stay here!

Everything is broke in the unit. The appliances, doors, locks. The unit needs a lot of work. You can find a better place for the money.

Aloha Marc, we do apologize on the multiple issues you experienced and I know it was frustrating. The appliances (ice maker and microwave handle) were warranty items and that delays the repair. We thought supplying you with ice would suffice. The microwave works, you just need to use the top portion of the handle. Both should be corrected as soon as the parts are in. The garage door lock and the shower handle have been corrected. The bar in slider rail is standard so you can leave the slider partially open for breezes, yet have security. Lastly, we and no other guest has had a problem with the lockbox. Again, we apologize for the multiple issues and addressed what we could with you and soon will have the rest completed.

Great for a family

We had a great time with this condo. It is very nice and clean. It give you plenty of room. Check in / Check out was very easy.

Great location and property

We were two families staying together (4 adults and 2 kids) and the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed the walk to Hideaways beach, the pool, and the house. The mgt company did a great job with communicating with us in advance - one feedback would be maybe a lockbox for house at the house instead of the office visit. The condo has a fair number of local residents and I got the sense that they don’t welcome tourists too much - especially children at the pool.

Mahalo Tina for your review and comments. We like to provide our guests with an in-person “Aloha” welcome rather than an impersonal lock box entry at the condo. Sorry for any discomfort at the pool…we will mention this to the resident manager as I do not think that is normal. Aloha

Wonderful location for a wonderful vacation

We went with two teenagers. There was enough room for everyone to have their own space. The condo had no noise from the road that leads to the Princeville Hotel which was pleasant in the morning when we took coffee on the patio. Everything was very clean and the property management staff was very responsive when we had questions. We loved the location. Last time we stayed at Poipu beach and though that was lovely, we definitely prefer the north shore. Hanalei beach is very family friendly. The only two cons i’d state about our vacation was that I’m used to a softer mattress at home and secondly the beaches needed a car unless we wanted to walk the 1/2 hour to Hideaways beach with the hike down or to Pu’u Poa beach below the Princeville resort., which can be tricky when you carry as much stuff as we do. We would rent this location again when we go back to Kauai.

Wonderful Home in Paradise

We (family of five) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nihilani #1B! The home was modern, spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed to make the most of our vacation on Kauai. I was also impressed with the service provided by the property management (Parrish Kauai). Since we were scheduled to arrive on Christmas Eve, I was able to send the concierge a list of grocery items and she did our grocery shopping for us ahead of time. They were also very responsive to emails and requests. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Great Condo in Princeville!

We come to Kauai every summer for an extended stay & have stayed in a different condo at Nihilani. This one is well appointed with all the necessities.Especially the kitchen! It has almost everything you could want minus a coffee bean grinder but it even has two crock pots, blender, rice steamer, griddle, even a George Foreman grill.The ice maker in the door wasn't working while we were there but it produced ice we just had to open the door the old fashion way, lol no biggie! I will say the furnishings in the living room have seen better days as the springs in the sofa were poking through, and the beds in the spare rooms were extremely uncomfortable, & the outdoor furniture needs improving if I am comparing to other condo's we rented for same price. This is the first home/condo we rented that actually came with a beach tent! We have one that a local friend of ours keeps for us but it was is in need of replacement so we were thrilled to see this bonus! There are only 2 beach chairs however there are are approx. 4 stadium chairs too. I prefer beach chairs but we made do. Again No biggie. As for the management of this condo they are amazing! When we arrived we needed some assistance with a personal matter & they were very helpful with assisting us. Then when we notified them of a leak under the kitchen it was fixed right away! Would we rent this unit again? Absolutely!
