Die Clayborne Villa ist das neueste Projekt des ehemaligen Besitzers von Kangaroo Bend Cottage. Es liegt direkt neben dem alten Kangaroo Bend Cottage am 160 Kangaroo Drive Coomoora (etwas außerhalb von Daylesford an der Straße Malmsbury - Glenlyon). Sitzen auf 5 Hektar teilweise bewaldetem Busch mit vielen Rasenflächen, um draußen zu genießen. Bringen Sie Ihre Mountainbikes mit, um einige großartige Reitwege zu finden, oder machen Sie einen gemütlichen Spaziergang auf einer Landstraße, die nur wenige Meter von der Claybourne Villa entfernt liegt. Genießen Sie die frühen Morgenstunden oder den Sonnenuntergang mit Kängurus und anderen Wildtieren. Nur 4 Minuten Fahrt zum Sonntagsmarkt, Farmers Arms und zur Hauptstraße, aber in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend von Coomoora mit wenig oder keinem Nachtverkehr. Sie können jeden Tag Kängurus, Kookaburras, Echidnas und die Vogelwelt beobachten.

Schlafzimmer 1 und 2 haben beide Queen-Size-Betten und Schlafzimmer 3 hat ein King-Size-Einzelbett.

Diese Villa verfügt über zwei Wohnbereiche mit jeweils einem Fernseher und einem DVD-Player. Die Holzheizung, die das Haus im Winter gemütlich hält, und die Außenwände aus Lehmziegeln sind sowohl im Sommer als auch im Winter hervorragende Isolatoren. Die Küche und der Essbereich sind sauber und hell, und zwei Badezimmer mit Badewanne im Hauptbadezimmer sowie Dusche sind ein Bonus.

The serenity

Fantastic retro mudbrick home with everything we needed to feel comfortable. Host greeted us in person and gave us short tour of house. Fridge had some basic supplies for us to enjoy, which was generous. Plenty of space, super quiet and peaceful. Great place for jog around the block, bbq outside and kangaroos grazing at dusk. Very enjoyable stay! Recommend!!

Lovely quiet and serene property, the host left some delicious snacks and treats for us and the fire was roaring when we turned up on a wet and cold afternoon. Very relaxing place to be and just a few minutes out of Daylesford.

Great little country getaway, 7-10mins drive to Daylesford Town centre

Thank you Bruce, we enjoyed our restful stay. Everything we needed was there; elecric blankets, milk and juice in the fridge, great wood heater and a short drive to town. Great accommodation to get away from hustle & bustle for a couple or with friends.

restful bliss, plenty of room, wonderful wildlife only 4 minutes to busy Daylesford.

Wonderful feeling of this mud brick house which is set on 5 bush acres with plenty of grassed areas for outside games or relaxing. Plenty of living area in the house for 5 people and 2 bathrooms as well, large main lounge, comfortable beds, magic wood heater for cosy nights. Safe for kids to ride their bikes around the bush tracks and country lane for early morning strolls. Great location for access to Hepburn Springs , Macedon ranges, Hanging Rock, Woodend, Kyneton, Creswick, Ballarat, Castlemaine, Bendigo, Maldon etc. Plenty of great places to eat around this district as well as galleries and wineries , markets and tourist railways. Lakes, creeks, rivers, reservoirs for fishing and great golf courses in Hepburn, Trentham and Creswick.

Wonderful rustic country getaway

A treasure in the bush! As a group of 4 (1 couple, 2 singles), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Clayborne Villa. Host Bruce was very welcoming and had the wood heater burning beautifully in time for our late arrival from Melbourne. We loved being a bit out of town (but still close enough) and in the bush. Quiet and peaceful surrounding compared to our busy city homes. The fridge was well provisioned with basic supplies. Bruce was very accommodating, friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. Homely atmosphere. A nice change from the modern and minimalist styles of homes. Our evening game of Chinese Checkers (provided in the house) by the fire, was highlight after a tiring hilly charity cycle around Daylesford. Would definitely come back and stay again. Thanks heaps, Bruce! You're a gem!

I grew up in Albert Park, South Melbourne and Port Melbourne a great area in those days. Attended Albert Park Primary then South Melbourne Technical school including extra 4 years doing my carpentry apprenticeship there.
I left Melbourne in 1996 to enjoy the bush life and to build a house for myself as I was very interested in alternative building methods that were thriving around this area. A builder friend and his family had moved up a year or so earlier and after visiting the area a couple of times I thought it was time to take the tree change and purchased the property that is now called Clayborne Villa and this was home for over 18 years and during that time I studied Advanced Building Studies at Ballarat and also Footscray T.A.F.E .
Around 2004 I had also purchased and operated Kangaroo Bend Cottage for a few years which was the adjoining block on the other side of Clayborne Villa . This had been quite successful but I wanted to wind down my workload a bit so I sold it and have more time to myself . I had also purchased the other block next door on the other side of Clayborne Villa and built my present home out of rendered straw bales. Silly me, a glutton for punishment! Both of my houses are built with the colder climate in mind and they are both very warm in winter and cool in summer. Being 5 acre (2 hectare approx) there is plenty of room around the house to enjoy the wildlife, kick a footy, ride a bike or any other outdoor activity without having fences or neighbours right outside your windows like in Melbourne. After spending 23 years as a with Department of Housing and Human Services I was lucky enough to obtain a package and retired at 63y.o. I now travel to my fishing spots on the bay when the Villa is not busy and have been lucky enough to visit a couple of countries to enjoy the more tropical climates. I also enjoy meeting the guest that come to stay in the villa and reading the guest book after they head off back to their homes.

Clayborne Villa in Kangaroo Drive Coomoora was the perfect property for me gentle slope, room for a small dam, only 4 minutes from the Sunday market and Farmers Arms Hotel. Plenty of wildlife and peaceful with only cool , chemical free rainwater to drink and underground electricity with no power lines to be seen it was perfect for me.

Mud brick houses are full of natural warmth and have that rustic feel of something that has been made with loving hands and does not have that commercial look or feel about it. It blends in perfectly with the bushland and has used the clay that was dug out when my little dam was put in.
