This house has everything you need for your stay the kitchen was stocked with utensils cups plates ect plenty of towels and the beds were very comfortable the pool is excellent we couldn’t get the kids out the house is just amazing with a beautiful wrap around verandah were we spent a lot of time plenty of room for a family get together highly recommend and our host Max was very informative and very quick to reply to my messages will definitely be returning .

Fantastic Family Getaway

Fosterton House was fantastic for our family get together. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, everything you could need is provided. Greeted by wallabies by the front door and a pool out the back … the kids had a ball! Only wish we could have stayed longer. Already planning our next visit.

Max and Bron are phenomenal hosts.Communication was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble!6 of us stayed for a girls weekend to celebrate a 50th Birthday. There was plenty of space for us all (both inside and out) with many places to come together, or to find a quiet spot to relax. We loved the firepit and sitting under the stars. The favourite quote of the weekend was "how's the serenity".We enjoyed the peaceful mornings on the patio with a coffee, watching the wildlife.Everything that we forgot (bugspray and sunscreen) was thoughtfully provided.2 things that could be improved on were the BBQ, which is obviously well loved and well used, but showing age and needed a deep clean. We cleaned up what we could to use it and then used it for all cooking. The other was the sheets and towels in the queen room. We were unsure if it were rust stains or stains from hard water etc, but it freaked out my friend staying in the room - so she slept on top with other blankets, rather than in the bed.These 2 things aside, we absolutely enjoyed our stay and were sad to leave and will absolutely come again.

Tranquil retreat

A wonderful property in calming tranquil setting. The pool was wonderful, was hard to get the kids out of it. House was well setup for groups and families. Lovely local Wallabies. Bronwyn and a Max are super hosts. Very helpful and very responsive.

Great Getaway

We went away with a big group of friends to celebrate my 30th. The outdoor fire pit was amazing! The pool was chilly but good for a dip to cool off. The spa was not heated. There was plenty of room for everyone to fit around the table, and there’s plenty of options for seating (could have a kids table if needed). We did have no reception which was a surprise but it was refreshing to have a break from the internet. We would go again!

Fantastic Property

Although it took nearly 4 hours from Sydney due to school holiday traffic, the property was amazing. The pool is huge so accommodates everyone, the house is HUGE, and is fully stocked from kitchen to towels to a million extra pillows, a toy room for the kids, DVD's to watch, an air con in the main living room is very powerful, Great walking grounds. The local IGA is 11 Min away. Fans in every room. All you need to bring is your swimmers and food. The only cons i could think of was the fact there is ZERO reception which starts at the front gate of the property. While its nice to get the kids to have a break from it, I would have preferred Internet for those Chill moments. Would recommend hiring Starlink and bringing with you. Also the owners house is visible to the pool so privacy is limited but honestly we rarely ever saw them. Max was so nice and hospitable. Marshmallows over the fire pit was fun and Kangaroos are everywhere around the house which is nice to see. I would recommend this property to others. Thanks for the stay!

Relaxed and regrouped

We had an amazing time we came up for a long weekend with a group of 11 to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The absence of the distraction of reception and wifi meant we really got to spend quality time together and truly switch off! The setting is stunning little walks around the property and dungog relatively close for supplies or if you need to connect to the outside world.

Switching Off

Some points to note : - No Wifi - Bad to No Reception - Getting there is a bit tough requires an off-road (Last 14km) and you have to get there in the daylight - You have to take your garbage bags to the bins which is like a 2km drive - Pool is not heated On a positive note : It was good to switch off for the weekend as we were forced to be off our phones and kids from iPads.

Fantastic getaway

We had a big family group with kids aged between 7 and 14. The pool was a good size for them all, and they thought the fire pit was great. Us adults liked that we could go for walks and see lots of wildlife. The kitchen and BBQ were great to cook up big meals. We’d definitely recommend Fosterton Retreat.

Family weekend

Awesome property. Lots of space for all. Lots to do, even when raining. Great playroom for the kids. We had kids, parents, grandparents and great grandparents, ages 1-101, we all had a wonderful time.

Relaxing Getaway

Our family and kids enjoyed the stay at this place - we all loved the pool, the campfire at the fire pit, the BBQ etc. The home itself is unique in its design and setup for those who are coming from non-regional areas.

Fantastic for family gatherings

Our family group of 8 adults and 1 child had a lovely pre-xmas stay at Fosterton House. Gorgeous view, lots of space, quiet, well stocked. Hot days but with the pool and air con at the house, and shady river swim spot nearby, we stayed cool! Would love to visit in winter too. Thanks Bronwyn and Max for a regenerative break :-)

All boxes ticked for a great weekend with friends and family

The house and cabins were perfect for our large group to enjoy a long weekend together. Plenty of space, very well equipped kitchen, fire pit for cooler nights, lovely pool for warmer days, sunset drinks on the veranda, abundant wildlife, magnificent views. Kids and adults alike had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back.

A beautiful slice of nature

A beautiful house with ample room for a big group. The property was stunning with many tracks into the surrounding bush, the sunsets on the verandah were mesmerising. Bronwyn and Max were wonderful hosts from warn greetings to lots of helpful info and going out of their way to return lost belongings. Thank you guys for a memorable weekend!

Great weekend escape

A fabulous spot for a weekend away with friends and family. Very spacious house, beautiful surrounds, well equipped with kitchen equipment and games etc. Very comfortable for 2-3 families. 15 mins to Dungog Common.
